Riddling spuds is mind numbing, I did hundreds of tons as a teenager straight out of school. We used to work straight off the heap, forking from the heap onto the riddle and bagging into half hundred weight bags. Your repair is only temporary unless it works. When you come to put the transfer box back in, use some long stud bar in the top bolt holes so the box goes in straight, if you get it wrong you will destroy the input shaft seal on the transfer box and it will leak all the oil out. Also dont forget the bottom right bolt is shorter than the others, if you put a longer bolt in it will lock the transfer box up and the first time you drive away it munches the box
