All great and valid points. This should be discussed further as events like Trail Hero and Great American Krawl continue to grow bringing more inexperienced people with bought rigs out on the trail!!

I couldn't agree more! Thanks!

Great point - social media voids the thought for most around experience or driver abilities.

Valid points. I think videos, photos, comments on the apps help people gauge whether it’s going to be a trail they want to do.

For sure.

I have to laugh about this one. We led a group on an "easy trail" down here in Alamogordo and they showed up with there stock rigs and open diffs. They were quite surprised what we considered an easy trail. There was some pulling involved and a few bypasses, probably some scraped up undercarriages as well. I had to tell one of them that this is an easy trail for us. 37s, lockers, and years of experience. LOL. See you at the Chile Challenge. We'll bring some stickers.

Haha! Right on, see you there!

I have been to events that list the vehicle requirements( ie:tire size- lockers front and rear) and they verify the equipment and asign a maximim rating for the rig and do not allow rigs to sign ip for trails above the rating I habe been to events where there is no verification and you sign uo for any trail. This does not account for experience, but you do not have 33 inch tires and a limited slip in the rear on an 8 rated trail if you verify the rig. That system pissed a few off, but allowed for a better experience (less sitting around)

I totally agree, Tim. Not everyone will agree with having minimum requirements but it makes everyone's day better.

Maybe a rating system by state…?

That would help. Someone will need to translate! 😂
