Crawler's Ledge on the NāPali Coast uncut in 4k (outbound)

Crawler's Ledge is a challenging and infamous section of the Kalalau Trail that runs from Ke’e Beach to Kalalau Beach, located on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, and is known as one of the most dangerous trails with easy access. This narrow and precarious path is situated along the rugged Nā Pali Coast and is known for its breathtaking but treacherous views. Hikers must navigate a steep, cliffside trail with sheer drop-offs to one side and the ocean crashing below. Crawler's Ledge can be intimidating, especially in adverse weather conditions, and requires careful foot placement and a head for heights. While it offers stunning vistas of the coastline, it's not for the faint of heart and demands caution and respect for the environment.

Any camera with varying focal lengths is going to be “fake” compared to our eyes. This GoPro has a 12mm focal length. The closest we can get is about 50mm, though that discounts peripheral vision equivalency. If you want the true representation compare the person to the trail, as that was the main purpose of following someone through. 👍

The biggest problem is that the trail and the rock is just crap. Every step is a hazard. A jumbled, slanting, broken, uneven and unreliable surface. The only really bad section is that 30 yard section going around the ridge extension. Careful foot placement and balance makes it work. Poles while carrying weight greatly aid balance. I have done more exposed hiking in the Sierra, but that is solid dependable rock. This is trash volcanic crap.

Yep. We're often in the Sierras and Trinities ourselves. Still young mountains, but old compared to this area. We found the dry slightly cambered main trail to be the worst part (alleviated with micro spikes) and the rocks Crawler's Ledge area to be one of the easiest during our trip.
