@@lydiahumes6566 it wouldn’t. Based on the weight and surface area (and whether or not it had any spin on it) it would just drop at quite a slow velocity. It might hurt to take it to the face but you wouldn’t get knocked out. Volleyballs are actually quite light.

2:43 it might seem like a ridiculous action to dive for this ball, but the physics nerd in me can’t help but to point out that the ball was in the air for about 4-5 seconds. That means it flew 20-30 meters up in the air before coming down again. When the libero received it, it had a speed of 20-25 m/s.

I literally watched this for 2 reasons: -Because I’m somehow curious. -Because of Haikyuu. Edit: Hi 👋🏼 I just wanted to say that, I don’t just see volleyball as Haikyuu only. I see it as a great sport. When I was younger, I was always eager to watch volleyball on TV. But my interest on it vanished when I grew. I watched Haikyuu and got my interest back on watching volleyball videos. I didn’t meant to make people upset or be uncomfortable with the comment I made. But I’m sorry if I really did. I just wanted to share my thoughts. I’m not trying to sound like I’m the victim here but I’m still very sorry if I sounded like that. I still do wish a great day for everyone even in a middle of a pandemic. Just stay safe :)

Here in Belgium there are a lot of halls with this kind of roof. In most of them even nails are sticking out and because of that some balls get punctured. I don't know who got the crazy idea to use this kind of roof in a sports hall. In our hall luckely we don't have this kind of roof.

My strange vball experiences: 1.On my middle school team our gym wasn't regulation (Great job school) so we played at the community center. Once during warmups we impaled a ball on a ceiling spike. I still have that ball. 2. The next year we finally got a regulation gym, but our ceiling was really low so things hit it about 100 times per practice. We had like a cork square ceiling. During the first match we accidentally passed a ball straight up into an empty ceiling square. It never came down 3. We shattered the glass on the fire safety permit while serving
