Fun fact: Lightning almost always starts at the ground and moves up. It is just too fast to see. It only doesn't touch the ground if it is from cloud to cloud.

Actually lightning starts from a static electricity discharge from the cloud and goes to the ground while a bolt of the opposite charge meets it close to the ground. It pays to be accurate buddy 🤣🤣

Ground to cloud often occurs at high places (as seen in the video). Cloud to ground, though, often appears to be the other way around because an invisible stream of electrons moves to the ground from the cloud, and then the visible flash is the transfer of protons upward.
