Monotone boards are straight up unsolved as far as natural bluffs since its impossible to block the nut flush card, when facing an overbet what tf are their bluffs. I make this fold daily no sweat
@RaiseYourEdge2 жыл бұрын
On highstakes a lot of players are aware of this. However, it is still difficult to find enough bluffs especially under ICM pressure. Great to hear that you are able to make these folds. Keep it up champ!
@Demondoink12 жыл бұрын
You want to bluff with unpaired hands to the board so that you unblock your opponents folding range (two pairs). For example if the board is KQJ8dddd5 then you would be much better bluffing A2 or A3 than AJ. As OOP will call/call/fold hands such as KJ/QJ/J8 etc. When you can’t bluff blockers (for example on four flush boards) then you bluff unblockers (for example non paired hands so that your opponents river folding frequency increases). Bluffing with a board pair would reduce his folding frequency and make it more likely he had a flush.

For me your fold is really bad. For example Patrick Leonard always bluffs those spots, you have the second best flush, you've lost more with that pair of jacks vs 88 in a single hand. You should have called for sure anyway then you went all in with A5 suited when A8 suited never wins at those stages of the tournament. NEVER. I am also very happy playing microstakes believing myself to be Isaac Haxton, Bonomo, Ivey, Mateos or Patrick Antonius.

There are two logical fallacies in play here. You are committing one of them, if you can figure out the other there may be hope for you to find which one you are committing. (Hint: this has nothing to do with whether the chat pros are correct or not, it is about the process).

The Problem is this is just fair beyond the stacks and skill level 99,99% of the people locking poker vids on YT. Making this plays on low stacks vs random villains makes no sense but they can't imagine it could be. I have again the take away for me, good folds makes you the most money in poker. Starting with folding the crap preflop an ends on good river folds.

@@stein2137 We can have Ax in diamonds and T9d for the nuts as well, so the answer is no. Every street is a different decision, especially if the board structure changes. If the river bricks he is calling down KTo almost for sure there because BU can have so many bluffs with Ad and even more, but when the 4th diamond comes in there is basically no natural bluff but like 44 combos of AdX. That's why he decided to fold because BU has to bluff random hands to make this a profitable call.
