I love that cute Buzzy Beetle girl. It's actually cool to expand on basic enemies' concepts for a more important role. Besides, she kinda looks like Toadette, so a rivalry between between the two would be fun. Also the Koopa has several shells on his head, meaning he was probably supposed to throw them at you like the small green Broodal does. And I don't think that Koopas throwing their shells at you is something that has been done before.

I'd actually prefer the koopalings as they had never had a 3d boss fight and it would be interesting to see how they would adapt to the environments.

One thing that botherd me during Odyssey is the fact Bowsers children aren't in it. I mean if I where to plan my OWN wedding and have adopted children, I would invite them MY wedding to say "kids this is now legaly your new mother". And I would be the worst parent ever if I didn't.

A note: “The bird creature who shoots ice” in the kingdom themed set is clarified to be a ladle that shoots fire, which I felt was pretty clear. It has a little blowtorch out of its mouth. I really like that whole set conceptually, having each of the Broodals match their respective kingdom was kinda cool. I think this could have been even better if each Broodal was fought in the kingdom before the one that they come from (So like, the Sand kingdom one would be fought in Cascade Kingdom as an example. Although I’m sure the kingdom order was different at the time, as they put the Sea[side?] kingdom broodal before the Sand one). This would mean that easy Broodal would act as like a teaser or preview for the next big kingdom, get you hyped up and curious.

These concelt arts are great, they could be reworked into new bosses for another game. Nintendo has creative people, its just there limitation on making orginal characters for a lot there games is what hurtting the series. Paper Mario and the New Super Mario Bros is example of victoms of such limitations.

It's quite standard in game development to draw lots of concept art and mesh together the ideas that work the best. The more ideas the team has + the more concept artist there are usually means lots of unused ideas. In the end the final product is a collection of concepts the team agreed were the best ideas that were also the most realistic to create in a reasonable amount of time. A lot of great concepts here but in the end the idea's they went with have a good sense of unison even if it's subjective what idea's would have been cooler to see. Best part about concept art however is that a good idea never has to be wasted. Great idea's in Ocarina of Time's development has made it's way into Majora's Mask all the way to Skyward Sword (maybe even further than that!) An example of Majora's Mask is OoT had the idea of Elemental Arrows being a focus but got downgraded to minor items in favor of finishing the game. Majora's Mask however by reusing assets was able to more easily realize this idea of elemental arrows even if the short dev time only allowed for 3 to be realistically fleshed out instead of all 6 arrows. Still the idea did get realized later down the line Same for all these enemy design concepts. It's just about finding the right time to include them
