Crazy Custom SILVER SURFER BLACK Statue Review

What? A custom piece for only $800. See that goes to show that there are way too much over pricing going on in the statue making companies. That is an amazing sculpt of the Silver Surfer. Love the pose and look of him, especially the price. If more companies charged their pieces fairly like this one, they would not have any problems selling their products. How many times they say they sold out of a particular piece and then because people can't come up with the payment. All of a sudden some opening become available and they can't believe that they can't find any other takers. Meanwhile all it would take is for them to lower the price. Oh well. Congratulations Mr. X that is a fantastic catch.

That base alone is worth the price of admission in my opinion. The paint job on this piece as a whole is sick!

Love this custom statue. I was in the same boat with switching order to black then reverting back to silver. I love the Galaxy reflection on the SS Blk but as you said, I wasn’t sure if the sculpt of the SS would would showcase the anatomy. I opted for the silver version and could not be happier. The dynamic pose of SS really can not be appreciated with the blk version. Needless to say both pieces definitely have their highlights. Again congrats on having this in your collection.

I like this black surfer ALOT.!! but I can't decide if I like it better than silver surfer w giant black hole vortex .? I like that reflection is only in-between his feet where he's passing through.. I think represents the function of a black hole well by anything outside the immediate center point being consumed.. hence no reflection on the front or rear of the board.. the teeth do look a little funny.. but oddly don't mind it.. I think it's a toss up between that and being washed out in chrome or black chrome..

Base looks good. Basically on par with other SS statues. The sculpt looks fantastic on the body. I really like the galactic paint on the board and arm. Really great statue overall

I love the storyline. Having a Black Surfer statue is great alongside the chrome and the silver variants. Having Mjolnir in his hands is damn awesome. The easiest paint job is definitely "black". 😎👍

epic statue, I've only painted one Silver Surfer in my career, it was only a 1:8th but it was difficult to paint, you have to build up layers of under colour so him & the surfboard catch the light with different colours showing but still saying one colour

I think with the cosmic setting he has black would be the way to go. Looks quite dark on video but I'm sure this will be way nicer in real life. I think a black silver surfer may be in the cards for me in the future 🤔

I have to say in the beginning I wasn't digging the way it looked in Black so much but I think that was partially because the way it was coming out in the video. In the close up video I think it looked a lot better and changed my mind I do like it something different and for that price OMG what a steal

I absolutely love this Surfer. Easily a 5 out of 5 statue. I love the black on this surfer. The white teeth is an awesome contrast. i hate when they just make the inside of his mouth the same color silver as the rest of the character.

"Want to demonstrate that a character is powerful? Just have them beat up the Silver Surfer!" He hasn't been depicted as close to this powerful since Annihilation!

The quality is good but it's hard to see and I think I'd always go for the original look for characters. With statues there's a space premium so you'd have to be a big fan or have the space for variants. Might look really good if paired with Knull on throne.

Great review, for this statue i think black is best, looks like it coming out of the page of Thanos Wins, the first time you see Surfer with the Annihilation Wave behind him.

I love how they do the ripples coming out from his feet on the board, like he’s pouring out of it. And I love how the galaxy is only on the middle of the board where the portal is, the ends of the board are out past the portal so it shouldn’t be reflecting on it, and I love how his left arm is reflecting the galaxy as he’s opening the portal. This is my favourite Surfer statue that you have, it’s just so cool, and this black one is much nicer than the silver version, and $800?? Such a good price.

The surfers dynamic pose really stands out, plus the colors throughout the statue pop. I think capturing motion in statues, while ensuring they are still pleasing to the eyes is hard. This statue really nails it! Very well done🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I still love the colors they go with for the “cosmic, space” look for the bases and backdrops as he cruises through the endless void of galaxies, planets and emptiness swirling with colors. Also love when they do the ripple, waves around the feet showing he’s one with his board and his board conforms to him and becomes one with him. Damn, that value is legit !! Fair.

Lighting is very important for this Black Silver Surfer, with out the lights it's very hard to see him. I do think it's an interesting concept, but between the wobble, the size, and lighting issues, I don't think this would be a statue I would get. Looking forward to more Black Silver Surfer reviews, hope the next one is better.

He is actually black because of Knull, he accidentally travelled throught time and got to Knull's world and got corrupted by the darkness. Everytime he uses the power cosmic against Knull he was drained of the light, he couldn't defeat him until he uses all his powers to give birth to the new universe and turned completely black and was reborn into the new universe as Silver Surfer Black, he disappeared for a millenia and that's how he appeared black in Thanos Wins. He basically recreated the universe, reborn in the universe he created as a Black Surfer.
