It was fantastic to see this running and I still don't know how you came up with this crazy but cool disk washer! Forgot to add the Windows 98 startup

It's the 98 logon tune. All of these are burned into my brain! My favourite is 95 though
@RobSmithDev5 ай бұрын
Correct! Yeah I thought 95 was a bit too obvious!

Windows 3.1 sound anybody?

I guess that one is kinda cheating given having a sound card wasn’t as common back then

Just noticed the rear roller cleaning the disk holder mechanism for you during drying 🙂

Haha yeah it shouldn’t be touching it. Sometimes when powering down the servos they shift forward a little. I was wondering if anyone would notice, good spot!

This is amazing. I wish I'd known about Kickstart, I have some floppy disks that no longer read and this would have be a perfect test for your machine :) Next time perhaps

No worries, my next video will go through various cleaning experiments so you can try it yourself quite easily
@retromaniacjames5 ай бұрын
Looks like it should actually do a decent job at cleaning the diskettes, though the choice of music I wouldn't have done. For me the perfect music to play is "Rose Royce - Car Wash (1976)" because you basically made a car wash for diskettes. :)
@RobSmithDev5 ай бұрын
That’s actually what it does play, it’s just a dance mix of it - it’s more obvious if I let it play… but copyright etc

Fantastic video Rob ! (As per usual). Loved all of the very in depth details that you provided in the video, it really shows the great lengths you go to, to create your work. Did you get any threats of violence from Ctrl-Alt-Reese ? (as you were sat next to him at Kickstart 02) 😉 What happened to using The A-Team or MacGyver themes ? LOL Keep up the awesome work mate
@RobSmithDev5 ай бұрын
Thanks 😃 yeah this one took a while to make but was interesting and fun. Ctrl-Alt-Rees was very well behaved, my table was powered by an extension cable that plugged in behind him so he could have pulled the plug at any time. He was more worried about Amiga people attacking his Ataris 😂 Funny, A-team was mentioned but you’re the first to suggest MacGyver!
@Geordie-Jedi-775 ай бұрын
@@RobSmithDev IIRC - I suggested using The A-Team them on your last video However it was you that mentioned using the MacGuyver theme ! Have you gotten round to purchasing a blow torch yet (to compete with B.A. ?)
