You captured the angst and pain so so well. I am halfway through rewatching the series (saw it as a kid and a lot went over my head) and I’m understanding more and more as I watch it that x files is a love story. For so long unrequited but then eventually realized. I think Scully is in love with Mulder well before he is truly in love with her- it certainly takes him longer to become aware of it. Almost want to restart again to catch all those painful glances.

I think it mutual. All his looks, his small touches on her back, how he invaded her personal space. I just think he thought she would never notice him or be interested since she seemed to have such a grasp on her emotions. Either way it was the best chemistry between two people EVER on TV and for that I am grateful.

I think what I love so much about this one is the way it shows the moments when they were on the verge of losing their minds--and you included the psycho from "Beyond the Sea"!
