I know this video is a couple of years old but I hoping you might be able to help me out. What is the theory behind the solo. I get I can learn the notes and mimic it but I'm hoping to know the scales and key/mode it's based on. I find it much easier to learn a solo when I know the why of phrasing and not just what the notes are. This way even if you flub it while playing you can save yourself by staying in the scale. Hope that makes sense

I had the same question. I have like a week to learn it and keys help. From what I can see most of it is on the d major scale, some of it on the bm pentatonic/blues. And the same applies for the other lead parts he hasn't gone over. I'm no expert, but that's atleast what I (think) worked out
