I live just 20 minutes from Gabčíkovo. It looks like such a scary place to get through in a small boat. I'm glad you made it safe but that looked abit scary at some moments 😊

I live 10km from Gabčíkovo, I am surprised they let you through, if I remember well, they let only 450kg+ boats into the lock. Pity there was no footage from Devín to Bratislava which is arguably the fastest part of the whole navigable Danube.

Hey guys, get video, I'm reading "The unlikely voyage of Jack de Crow" by A J Mackinnon. It's a fantastic book about a voyage from north Wales to the Blacksea in a Mirror dinghy. I have just read about the lock you went through, so it was great to see your video of it. Thanks

very cool! I was just trying to see where the floating bollards are at Gabcikovo and came across your feed; I love what you're doing. we are en route with a 31' sailboat (with the mast down) from Vlissingen in Holland to the Black Sea but got stuck in Bratislava last October with transmission trouble. Shame we didn't meet. Just prepping the boat now and hoping to leave in the next day or 2. Marinas and berthing opportunities are in short supply between here and Budapest so thanks for the heads up about Locsey at Kismaros. Where are you now?

Hey, I want to sail from Bratislava to den Haag on a small laser sailboat, how was the journey, do you think its possible or is the current too strong and its only possible the other way around? Is there anywhere I could contact you to gain more information? Thank you :)
