A sailor must always be prepared for the Sideways Show, and you had a doozy with that snubber/chain/anchor situation. I can just see you running forward after you gained some ground. Yikes, and well done! I'm a 7:1 kind of fellow all the time, don't care, won't drag, try not to be in crowded anchorages. What fun!
@SailingSundayАй бұрын
Yes! haha. It probably would have been scary and funny to watch at the same time, I was in my underwear and just like, its ok i'll just pull fwd between the breaks in the wind and pull up some chain from the helm then run up front to undo the snubber quickly and dump more chain, it will take 5 seconds, but every time I pulled fwd and like a dozen attempts later to pull the chain up the windlass would just slip all that chain back out again and the snubbers back under the water. I couldn't tighten it anymore the wind was just so strong. I have a snatch lock type snubber, so I physically need to undo it from the chain. So anyway yes I was motoring fwd, running up fast to try pull it up with the remote in the bow and undo it quickly before it pulled back again and I could only see about 1' infront of me with horizontal rain and the boats heeled right over lol, It was crazy, and the rain was like needles hitting me all over my body LOL!!! If anyone could have seen me it would have been so frustrating and funny to watch. I have a picture of my anchor tracks somewhere its a huge ZigZag backwards towards shore! I might try find it and post on facebook lol

@@SailingSunday Yeah, so scary. Thats why you grabbed a camera instead of taking care your safety and the situation first. Like that boat that just went up on the reef. Instead of handling the situation, they grabbed a camera. More interested in creating drama than their safety. And the other channel in the Caribbean who got "boarded" at night while asleep. Instead of handling the situation, they grabbed a camera. And the other sailing channel who said they were hiking alone in the remote jungle in Asia, when in reality they were on a guided group tour. FAKE FAKE FAKE FAKE.....fake drama for views and likes! 90% of sailing channels are 90% BS. Notice theres no drama on Sam Holmes channel or Wind Hippie's ? Because they dont create fake drama. 95% or sailing you are fixing something that broke or theres nothing going on. So all these sailing channels have to make up BS to get views.
