The video gives the implication that Blowers made this call while Tuiasosopo was up to bat, but he didn't. He made the prediction before the game began, and he originally said "maybe in the second deck." So in his second time at bat, on a 3-1 fastball, Tui hits his first homer of his career and it "just misses" the second deck. Niehaus was marvelous in this call...man, I miss that guy.

*I think, clearly, it's gonna be [Matt] Tuiasosopo today. He's been swinging the bat well the last few times he's got an opportunity to play, I'm expecting him to hit his first big league homer today--* "Second basemen like Tuiasosopo accounted for 189,487 of MLB's at-bats in the aughts, 4,222 of which resulted in home runs. That's about 2.23% of them. Meaning a roughly 1-in-45 shot of correctly pinpointing a particular at-bat in which a 2nd baseman will homer. *Second at-bat.* "As Blowers did, in specifically identifying Tuiasosopo's second at-bat of the game." *He's gonna hit a fastball from [Brian] Tallet--* "Tallet was a relief pitcher throughout most of his 10-year career, but he was a starter in '09. It was by far his busiest season, notching over twice as many innings as any other, and thus reaching a 3-1 count on 70 different occasions. Of which he threw a fastball 80% of the time." *He's gonna hit it out of left-center field. Probably, oh, maybe in the 2nd deck.* "Of the 30,260 homers hit by right-handed batters in the 2000's, 17,296 of them were pulled towards left, which amounts to about 57.2%." *On a 3-1 count. On a 3-1 count?* "About 2.61% of the decade's 1.66 million at-bats ended on a 3-1 count, or roughly 1 in 38." 0.027%, or 1 in 3,703.
