Well the Rok Sonoma championship has come to an end and I have won the championship. I knew it would be hard as coming into the race I was 65pts behind 1st place which meant I had to beat first place by more then 5 positions in the main event to win it and I also had to beat second place witch was 25 points in front of me in at least the main event. Through a series of events that I would have never thought could have happened I was placed in a position where this was entirely possible. I knew I had pace because in the first heat race I had the fastest lap. On the start in the main event I had unfortunately taken some damage and had a very badly bent steering shaft so the whole time the wheel was offset about 10-20 degrees to the left making it very hard to drive. In addition to that the toe angle was off so it made turning 2x harder physically. On the start the first place holder that was 65 pts ahead of me got by me and so did a couple other karts. Somehow I managed to get by the other karts that were in the way of me and the championship holder. However there was about a 1-1.5 second gap between us. I not only closed the gap but passed the championship holder and started battling so the karts behind us caught up and ended up passing the championship holder. I then just pushed on to the end of the race holding my position of p4 and winning the championship. Shoutout to @gfckarting @gary_carlton50 @sonnycervelli @lavery_nathan29 and @Grant @j.buttafoco12 @chasehandracing @joeyhandracing for help with chassis and driver coaching.
