@@ke4uyp exactly he is by himself and if he blows up…oh well, he died having a blast, get it. No one but him gets hurt. and yeah, when we were kids we all tried to jump the snake River canyon like EK, right? 😉
@jakegarrett81092 жыл бұрын
@@ke4uyp I saw nothing unsafe about this, it was performed in an empty area void of obstacles and cars. He wore safety gear, the seat even had a blast deflector at the rear. It was built relatively well etc. You know as a kid I made way more unsafe things (including one bicycle I threw together in about 2 hours that had an engine using a sawblade right behind me as part of a variable drive speed, and had no safety limits so if you moved the handle too much it would saw through your body), yet I still have all 10 fingers.... I'm also known to put out gasoline fires with more gasoline (it works pretty well, liquid gasoline doesn't catch fire only the fumes, so you can just smother a gasoline fire with more gasoline, I've done that many times. I also laughed my butt off with my wheels on fire (due to a gasoline leak dripping onto the exhaust system) on a very old lawn mower doing 40 mph off-road through a field. All the old farm machinery and heavy equipment is missing its safety covers, and often sticking your hands and arms near spinning saw blades and gears to pry and pull stuff that's stuck in the machine. Yet I still have all 10 fingers. Let me assure you, this guy clearly had a lot of thought into safety just looking at it for 1 second you'd see that, and he did it in an incredibly safe way (even if it caught fire, there was really nothing to even burn where he was at!). If you want to go do something dangerous, go take a shower. Why do I say this? More people die in the US drowning from a shower or bath (very specific I know), compared to deaths by rifles of all kind in the US (of which there are 15 million AR15rifles alone) and consider that most gun deaths are actually suicide, you'd agree that you should be terrified of taking a shower right? Well I try to play it safe and take as few showers as possible (you could ask my mom as a kid), but if we consider all the dumb stuff I've done (it would be a long novel if I typed it), then you'd see maybe we should all just worry a little less, because there are a lot more dangerous things people do like taking showers that you're probably not as worried about...

I'm not an engineer of any kind, but I was also really surprised at that. I know valveless pulsejets can be a bit tricky to get right, and I'd imagine he has years of trial and error behind that. It also looked like he had a valved pulsejet cart on the back of his truck, so he's definitely been working on some fun projects. Oh, and he probably has hearing loss. Prally worth it tho

As soon as I heard it, I knew what you had fired up. This is same propulsion system as Germany used for their buzz bombs. A pulse combustion engine. I worked for a company that manufactured a product based on this principle. It was studied by a Canadian scientist, Kitchener, during WWII. Kitchener realized that this system produced amazing amounts of heat, and designed boilers based on the principle. They were manufactured by Hydrotherm Corporation in NJ, a division of Penn Central.

I'm guessing the camera sensor is blowing out the highlights. If it were accurate, according to the kelvin color temperature chart, that would be 5000-6000 degrees celsius (which it can't be because what metal can withstand that heat, right?). So I'm guessing we'd need a camera sensor with more dynamic range to guess the temp - or does anyone know the temp those things get up to?
@Hirvee52 жыл бұрын
The camera can lie a bit but the metal color seemed like it was close to the melting point of steel. Its probably the camera lying a bit, but I'd be very worried about getting the thing just explode on my back. But he probably knows better. Yeah It seems its after sunset so the colors seem much more bright than they actually are.
