What's hilarious is that I married an American woman and moved to the USA. As a Englishman I found myself getting in trouble either being too neutral with things being 'fine', or far too sarcastic that it flew by people!

I am a straight talker, which is why British politeness frightens me. I ask myself: What on earth does the person have in mind? So after watching your video, it dawned on me that I have to be more careful with what I say!

you might think about adding "that's a brilliant question". i heard it quite a few times, thanks to juggling 3 other subjects in my mind during meetings.

Yep, i agreed with the coffee response to end the conversation. Just like culture behavior when u get mature i think. Children will never say like that, differ ages differ way to talk to each other.

Wow, we're quite similar with people from Kyoto, Japan. They say like this from their ancient time, Come and eat rice with tea !! But it means, Goodbye thanks ! Oh, what a same culture ~✌️🎉 Ta

Actually I find the greeting politeness quite similar to the Italian one. I'd call it quite the Western politeness, where we just ask but we don't really want, or have the time, to stay there and listen to someone else. And it happens even among friends or families. I find it quite sad. Sorry, it was just my point of view. 😊
