For all the guys saying he sucks, you clearly have not been down Lower A-Z. It’s steep and very technical. I was lapping up there today with a level 3 instructor/guide and we dropped Gutterball, which has a very similar drop in. he side slipped down the rocks, just like this guy, and he’s an awesome skier. This terrain is no joke.

The hike and runs are so sketchy. I did 1st fork with the guide u skied little couloir with. It had snowed a lot, and there was better snow on three forks than anywhere else. The person still told me “don’t even turn, just slip the top.” Tells you how sketchy these runs are.

If the rocks were not so damn sharp in Big Sky he could have made a few turns at the top, but you don't want to screw up getting in, so good job on taken it easy and living to ski another day. The actual skiing he did was good those chutes are steep, fast and narrow.

Hello, To the person who filmed this video (FrontRow Steve). You dont have to convince me, the camera never does justice to a super steep ski slope. Awesome photography and even better skiing. The person skiing was just being tactical in the first 50 seconds of the video, nothing wrong with that. I think he nailed after that, again great job. By the way, Jimmydeez is spot on with his assertions.

I was in a road band and we played at Big Sky Resort. They gave us free ski rentals and lift tickets. I hit an icy spot at the top of a chute called "Little Tree". The edges on the skis were not sharp and I skidded about 1/4 mile all the way to the bottom and hurt my knee. The ski patrol was at the bottom when I came to a stop. He said, "You sure put on a go show". lol I managed to keep my skis below me but couldn't even see where I was going cause the snow and ice came up over my skis and obscured my view down hill. We played music at Whiskey Jacks and I had to sit on a chair to play my guitar cause my knee hurt so much. :)

Ok when you get to Big Sky I can take you up there and we will see. Its about 65 degrees at the top and jagged rocks that are barely covered up. You guys can huck it from the top and we will call the ski patrol to come clean you up.

Actually, he was getting into the appropriate position, which is the mark of an expert, not an amateur. An amateur would have dropped off of the rocks and crashed. You have to have a plan to ski a steep chute like that. If you fuck it up off of the bat, you rag doll the rest of the way down. Then you are at the mercy of whatever you run into.

I agree this video could have been edited to one minute or less. As far as the difficulty of the line though, based on all the gopro skiing I've done (this looks like a gopro vid ya?), and the video I watched of these chutes from the normal perspective, they look like pretty full commitment "no fall" type chutes. Also, it looks like there could be some shark fins lurking in that first area of snow he steps down into which would make dropping into it a potentially really bad call. Nicely skied a

One could argue the title is misleading but there's no conceivable way to enter this faster so I don't know how people are giving the skier any flak. There's a ton of exposure on this line and it's undoubtedly a no-fall zone. The entry is well-executed, interesting, and entertaining to watch. If you disagree, you're not into this type of skiing and just not the target audience for this video.

like he's not a bad skier, but i think the reason why ppl gave so many dislikes is because the title said "crazy skier" and the first 10 seconds made you believe that he's gonna bomb down the whole thing in lightning speed. But then, he didn't, so we were all disappointed. And ruining his skis in the process didn't help either, i mean, there's only about 1.5 meters of rocks, and it's all gravy underneath...

I’ll add, notwithstanding complaints but it is definitely worth showing the entire entry stepping down anchored by holding the ski patrol rope which I’m sure you edited cause it was all of 4 mins, but actual process probably longer but it’s very informative and honest. This crap of people editing videos and showing all these high speed descents is not credible as they edit out the ‘hard parts’ where they stopped, walked, side-stepped, slid on their arses etc. Excellent video, thanks .

Almost n turning skills seem needed - one could point and go fast and run it out? Is there some 65 degree drop or is it narrower than it looks, or what?
@hfl3rd11 жыл бұрын
Where I agree he was a little timid at the top ( to say the least) and he probably didnt need a line either, Big Sky is a really exposed mountain where the conditions are super variable with hidden jagged rocks.. That section of the A to Zs is not a place one should just go charging. Also, you can see that theres really not that much snow in there.
