Hello young man. I am probably older than your father. Some of my very first memories were watching the jetties you fish off of being built. The first fish I ever caught was a halibut by the harbor patrol. I’ve surfed and fished more days on and around the SC pier than you have lived. I love your videos, they take me back to my childhood. (I moved away years ago) Please keep them coming as long as it doesn’t interfere with school or responsibilities!

Dude first off I have to publicly apologize I was the kayaker lurking in the light blue yak off in the distance haha. I didn’t realize how close I got to you at the end there my bad man the jetty looks a lot higher and further from down there. But it was my first time ocean fishing that day and I was like mesmerized watching you fish lol I even asked you what you were fishing with lol. But I’m pretty sure when the spear fisherman was swimming in front of you we were both throwing our hands up like wth is this guy doing. I’m on deployment right now but I’m coming home in October would love to jetty fish and learn a thing or two from ya sometime if you’re free one weekend!

Yeah I always use at least a 15lbs top shot there because those rocks. If you hook a big bass or halibut they always run for cover.

That is challenging walk, at least they still let you go out there, back in the 90's we routinely walk to the end of San Pedro break water, you see people of all sorts walk to the end of for fishing or just for the heck of it. This is not the last time you will run into potlickers, some people have no courtesy for others, fishing does bring out the worst in people. Good luck, be safe, and keep that line wet, another advice, marry a women that likes fishing.

I can relate to this so much. When I’m out fishing there are always people on Jet-skis or small skiffs speeding by right over my fishing line. Luckily I’ve only caught a boat about 3 times.

OCDive 21 I have the highest respect for spear fisherman, and yes I totally want to try it out. But I was frustrated because this guy didn’t respect that someone already beat him to that spot, and decided to invite himself in. Even when my line was in the water. But I get it, don’t get me wrong

Keep casting, carry two filet knives if he has a problem and wants to be used as bait, some fisherman will take advantage of beta males, so be alpha, and no one will ever mess with your fishing trips, don't let surfers take your spot if you were clearly there first, I carry knuckle sandwiches for every one. No body kicks me out or cuts my lines, just saying bro, I see way too many videos of fisherman getting messed with.
