We had our wedding in the rose church of Asselt, the Netherlands. A small, fairytale-like church, with a higher location next to the water (Maas). That was 10 years ago this May. Then it was beautiful how the roses were in an early phase of flowering and all plants and trees have fresh green leaves. The means of transport that day was a completely new Audi A8 Quatro extended version and it was also the 1st in the Netherlands. Clothing: a bit standard, but innovative and a bit future. After us, we have seen more of these (2 toned) wedding dresses. So all in all a mix of history, then (2012) and a bit of the future. The best days were all the days before. The day itself is a moment when everything moves very quickly and you have to cherish all the moments. We had panned everything ourselves, with one person as master of ceremonies who was the only one who knew the complete schedule for the day. That went very well. Tip! Ask everyone to take as many pictures as possible. Place a disposable camera on each table. You get fragments that you didn't get yourself. Finally, do it the way you want it together and have a nice day. Above all, enjoy everything.

A former coworker was preparing to get married. She was a HUGE Hello Kitty fan. Her fiancee, not so much. ;) One day she was talking to another coworker about the plans for the wedding. Fairly traditional, nothing themed, other than being what I'd call "borderline princess" themed. Knowing her love for all things "HK", I suggested an idea for her bridesmaids; their dresses would be in that particular shade of pink, and they'd all have a pink bow set at that exact angle as Hello Kitty wears. She laughed, saying she'd LOVE it. But she loved her future husband more and knew that if she did it, he'd probably leave her at the altar! When I saw him later, I shared the conversation I'd had with his Sweetie. "You're probably right!" They have now been married almost 20 years and have three dwarves of their own. He's in the military and last I heard, they'd recently returned from an assignment in the home of Hello Kitty, Japan!
