Huh I just checked it out, interesting compromise between milling a SIM card slot and just soldering the SIM reader back on to the logic board. But it doesn't look as simple as the 14 Pro/Max where there was just a plastic block in place of where the SIM reader would be in international models. The US SIM-less iPhones have a completely different logic board design where the SIM card slot would normally be.

The strangest thing I had come across was a listing for a coffin...slightly used. This was like 15 or so years ago on eBay but yes it was a coffin and it was used as a display for some people who would later cremate the person. When you are cremated it is often placed in a cardboard box.

I just had one this week actually. I bought a Galaxy S20 FE that was claimed to have a non working display for $30 US. It came a few days ago, and I plugged it into the charger only to find out the screen actually did work! I turn it on as well to also discover it’s a global version of the phone on Verizon & is locked. But the craziest thing was it still had the original seller’s eBay account & Gmail account STILL LOGGED IN! Luckily it was a chain pawn shop I could easily get the phone number to & let them know of the situation & factory reset the phone so their stuff was no longer on it. But hey, I’ll gladly take a perfectly functioning S20 FE with a perfectly good display for $30 any day!

The FB marketplace is a wild west, i once bought a complete in box first gen MacBook for $50, then the next day another listing sell 2010 "vintage" MacBook for $350, another listing sold an entire warehouse stock full of unsold Chinese knock off cellphone from 2000s for 50 grand, yes, sold, someone though its a good idea to buy about twenty thousand pieces of e-waste for three dollar each

Probably the strangest thing I came across on eBay was a iPod touch 2 that had a hole near where the camera is on prototype iPod touch 3’s. It also didn’t show up in the AppleCare database so I bought it immediately; it doesn’t seem to be a prototype, chances are it’s a QA unit, still cool considering I paid US$12 for it.

Strangest deal I found was when I was looking for memory modules for my classic Mac Pro. Someone on FB Marketplace advertised some of the type I wanted, at 8 GB, for just $10 each. I agreed to buy four and went to see them. It was in an inner-city office where a business was vacating. Office equipment and computer parts were strewn all over the room; they were clearly eager to leave as fast as possible. When I noticed they had more such modules on offer, they said "How about eight modules for $50?" My eyes light up. "And we'll add this Apple Pro Keyboard as well." And that's how my Mac Pro now sports 64 GB of memory, plus a new keyboard, for just $50. Comparing prices for similar modules on eBay, I effectively got eight for the price of two. May we all find sellers so desperate.

This iPhone 15 is a Chinese mod. The reseller imported the E-sim only, locked iPhone from the States, however the grey market price dropped significantly, and ppl just modded the phone by “implanting” a physical sim inside the phone and sold it in half price. If you can bear the risk, you can get a modded iphone 15/pro for about US $550 or even cheaper.

Most overpriced thing I've seen online lately is a particular model of device that's important to a community I'm in. I live close to Slovenia (the place where they're made) but they are still rare. An other one is a really old but brand new Hungarian made Hajdu washer. I didn't get it. But I also found an old iPhone 4S 64GB and was never used. It's box and paperwork was missing. It was for a price of 2 used iPhone 4S 16GB models. Again, I didn't get it.

The only thing worth buying on that list was the iPhone 15 with the pins on the side, as that would have been intriguing as to why they do that. Everything else, including the burned iPhone, was not worth it. If someone destroyed their phone by removing the battery, then the battery was held in with far too much glue.

Accidentally poking a hole in a lithium battery with a screwdriver is a mistake i will hopefully only make once. It's quick, dirty, violent, and there isn't much you can do about it. That one looks like it was closed when the battery cooked off.

i bought a lot of 7 iphones, 1 iphone 5, 1 iphone 5s, 4 iphone 6 and 1 iphone 7, and most of them had a slight old iOS (making it slightly more rare) the iphone 5s in iOS 11, 1 iphone 6 had iOS 12, another one had iOS 10 (turned off to never turn back on) and a iPhone 7 on iOS 12, the iPhone 5 had iOS 10.2, one iphone 6 didnt boot to the os so i had to reset it and another 6 didnt turn on at all

Two of the best deals i've made so far shopping on Marketplace were an iBook G3 Clamshell Graphite for just 60ZŁ, or just 23AUD. The motherboard was toast but everything else was fine and in good enough condition, i managed to buy a beaten up motherboard donor and make a fully functional iBook. The second deal was an HTC Dream, branded as the Era G1 for Poland, i paid 50ZŁ or just under 20 AUD. The phone was in very good condition with all the original accessories and box. After purchasing a new replacement battery everything just works, no issues what so ever.
