I thank my God for drawing me away from Joyce Meyer's teaching and saved me through the preaching of the Gospel through John MacArthur during the pandemic. I'm now a member of a wonderful calvinistic baptist church. I remember how Joyce Meyer would answer her critics regarding her formal training: "I went to the school of the Holy Ghost!"

"I've got friends in low places" is a line Jesus could do in a modern version of "Jesus Christ Superstar"; it's not the problem, the problem is where the song goes from there. Low places are where Jesus said He came for; He came to seek and save the lost. I wouldn't have been able to keep quiet during that "rhythm of heaven" bit; I would have yelled something like "Heaven doesn't play a broken record!" How the church came to tolerate such ignorant crap is beyond me.

That second clip had me wondering where the mosh pit was. The little kid "preaching" is definitely child abuse! Word salad being applauded is horrible and teaching that preaching the word doesn't have to make sense. "Providing an experience" so accurately describes what passed for worship when I was in university. One group discussing how to increase unity talked about making sure everyone was straight out of high school, not from a different college or above the average age -- though people from the military were desired . . . . Wow -- I knew John Shelby Spong was a spiritual disaster, but that drivel was total nonsense. OTOH, given that he said that the church needs to "move away from theism", I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

Bill Sheer sounds like Joyce Myers. About the kid "pastor", there is a church that has a "family Sunday" every 5th Sunday (when there are 5). They give over the full service to the youth of the church. My unsaved husband was extremely confused and knew it was wrong... I had to explain it is not biblical in any sense
@debras38064 ай бұрын
“Knew it was wrong”? “Not biblical in any sense”? Of course it’s not directly biblical-like -having a church building -using a sound/amplification system -driving to church instead of walking or riding your donkey! That doesn’t mean it’s not a good idea
@debras38064 ай бұрын
By the way-posted the above before seeing that ridiculous kid self righteously breathing into the mic. Stand by what i said. The problems there? -the kid is REPEATING the sin he sees every Sunday in the pulpit -see above -the above It’s not THAT he’s a kid; it’s that he’s imitating a sinful adult.

So the first one seems to me that there was waaaaaay to much wine served at that communion. It also kinda reminds me of St. Loony of the Cream Bun and Jam from Monty Python. Also that poor kid. In my opinion, the youngest you should be preaching is a teenager, and only after studying the scriptures. And dont even get me started on women preachers. 🙄 That Heaven rhythm song was weird. My heart was doing weird things while the song was playing. Also that will be stuck in my head for days, thanks. I never realized how bad Joyce Meyer really is. She even sounds like a shrew.

Ohh Come on you are NOT using the chief of sinners verse to say Paul struggled with sin?? Really do you guys even read a bible He was the Chief of sinners because he persecuted and killed Christians BEFORE he was converted NO Paul was not struggling to stop killing Christian doing it less and less over time STOP
@appointedaday2 ай бұрын
@@justanotherfollower ?? What are you trying to say? We are talking about people twisting scripture to claim Paul struggled with sin I have never heard anyone use that verse in that way, even the most sin loving teachers will say it is some advisory or some physical ailment or some other thing outside himself there is nothing in that to make it fit struggling with sin Besides that what do you think,. Paul said he is the chief of sinners so he is running around with a bottle of liquor in one arm and with a prostituted under his other arm , Or that he is still killing Christians on the side or rather maybe it is as the context demands, he used to kill Christians but by Gods mercy and Grace he saved him and he no longer does these things
@appointedaday2 ай бұрын
@@justanotherfollower" I'm going by what I know of him in the Scriptures and SOLELY BASED ON SCRIPTURES" " I'm simply stating that he was struggling with something sinful as we all do" Paul no where in scripture said he struggled with sin, like I said even the most liberal of preachers don't use the thorn in the flesh as an example of this, and I showed how the other 2 scriptures are only because they are taken out of context and in no way support that theology So Show me in scripture IN CONTEXT where Paul struggled with sin Your not showing scripture you are just making your OWN assumptions that are NOT in the text at all
@appointedaday2 ай бұрын
@@justanotherfollower and again while we may not know what the thorn is we do know he was not struggling with sin because he claimed victory but at the very least rather then arguing all that out, the quicker and faster thing to say is No one can literally say he did struggle with sin based on this or have any bases to assume that it is even likely this is actually the worst scripture I have even heard even attempted to be used for this purpose, I mean even the other 2 would make sense if it were not taken out of context but this doesn't even hold water out of context
@justanotherfollower2 ай бұрын
@@appointedaday so you're saying he didn't struggle with sin? Just clarifying.
@appointedaday2 ай бұрын
@@justanotherfollower If you claim struggling with sin means he has continued to sin and did not have the victory he claimed, Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? 17 But God be thanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine to which you were delivered. 18 And having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.
