@bingbing-ti2rv Жыл бұрын
@Living The Error what?
@bingbing-ti2rv Жыл бұрын
@Living The Error yeah but no, in this video it's not a turbofan. Turbofans engines got a hot airflow and a cold airflow, with a fan at the entrance of the engine, accelerating cold air in the engine, there are multiple stages on a plane engine, I'm an aeronautic mechanic, it's literally my job, and in this video, it's a car turbo modified to burn fuel. (propane, butane, or even wood like some of those "Turbo Barrels" videos that u can find on KZbin). So in those case, it's a modified car turbocompressor, it's a 1 stage, 1 flow (hot) "engine". And I won't even call it an engine because it's juste a car turbo with a fuel intake added to it...
@bingbing-ti2rv Жыл бұрын
@Living The Error I totally agree with that, but the body of this engine is an old car turbo, modified to burn fuel. So I wouldn't really call that a jet engine at all, it's a modified car turbo, it's like modifying a chainsaw engine to fit it on a bicycle, you can't call the final a result "a motorcycle" it's a sort of modified bicycle with a chainsaw engine adapted on the rear wheel" same goes here, yes it works like a jet engine etc, but the base of this "engine" is an old car turbo.

That is the combustor. Mixes incoming air with propane gas for example. it is a blowtorch that produces hot gas to spin the impeller that feeds the combustor with air. @Ashton kinnett under heavy loads and a lot of boost, a turbine can generally get a lot hotter than what's shown here in this video. Ever seen a turbine housing glowing a bright pink/orange? They can take the abuse, but with a lack of lubrication (or overabundance) and proper cooling for the oil to prevent coking etc., any journal/ball bearing turbo will not last very long.

It is the job of the turbocharger to compress more air flowing into the engine's cylinder. When air is compressed the oxygen molecules are packed closer together. This increase in air means that more fuel can be added for the same size naturally aspirated engine.
@CrazyPeopleTVAshish Жыл бұрын
👍🏻👍🏻
@MaNNeRz91 Жыл бұрын
Yeah but that's not what this video is doing 😂
@voltsoftruthBSbuster Жыл бұрын
It has nothing to do with being able to add more fuel. Oxygen is an accelerant, thus when a turbo sucks and compresses more oxygen into the engine it causes the combustion to be far more explosive more violent even with same amount of fuel. In a diesel for example the compression of the oxygen is what egnites the mixure and produces an explosion. When you compress oxygen under high pressures it superheats and ignites on its own without the use of sparkplugs. But in the video the turbo is delivering a superheated jet sream of air thats already ignited. This would destroy your engine. This is why your turbo needs to have a air cooler to cool the air before it enters the engine block, and your turbo should be oiled to maintain it smooth lubrication reducing friction of parts.
@carloschaveiro5156 Жыл бұрын
but a turbo without intercooler is also good..
@ctdieselnut Жыл бұрын
@@voltsoftruthBSbuster it has everything to do with adding more fuel. Thats half the point of supercharging (turbos are a form of supercharging, look it up). To increase efficiency at low speeds, and to pack in more air than a n/a engine could by itself at wide open throttle. But this vid is of a turbo-jet engine made from a piston engine turbocharger, making everything you said moot. Fyi, turbo piston engines don't need to be intercooled, but most newer stuff (2000+) is, because cooler air is denser, and therefore has more oxygen per unit of air pumped to then be mixed with more fuel= greater power/better efficiency. For having a name like 'volts of truth bs buster', you sure are full of it.
