Today we are back with another video! Today we are showcasing a strange way to jig for walleyes in the middle of summer. Speed Jigging or sharpshooting has kind of revolutionized walleye fishing and in this video I show you my set up. This kind of walleye fishing is generally very productive from mid summer into the late fall. Using your Humminbird is equally as important as having the correct lure on and in this video I discuss what we are looking for on the sonar as well.
Thanks for watching the walleye fishing videos!

Side note, I follow a lot of walleye guys on youtube ... there have been about 8,000 slip bobber for walleyes videos recently. None are even close to as informative as the videos you've done about one of your 'absolute favorite ways to fish'. Good job with the hyper rattles - so fun.

Tom by far, you are the best fishing technique instructor in the industry. None of your videos have added filler (like other Wisconsin fishing shows). Even though you do not state the body of water you are fishing, you inspire us to be confident in the techniques you are teaching. I am never left wanting or filled with questions after viewing your material. THANK YOU! MUCH APPRECIATED TOM!!!

They are out of stock. I bought every one I found in Oneida and Vilas county. That was only 5 between 6 tackle shops. I also made an order from Acme directly. I bought one and used it several times before I nailed the technique and application. Thanks Tom! I used to use the Jig'n Rap but took the bottom hook off and used in the shallows post spawn. Now I have gone bigger/heavier and deeper with this and it has produced! This, coming from a guide, really expanded my arsenal and is easy for clients to get the hang of. Hard to get inexperienced people to have the feel in deep water, not with 28grams on the line!

Tom, could you give some light on the transitions you make going from mid day bite to late evening bite? What does that transition look like in your boat?
@loboyd691
@loboyd691 3 жыл бұрын
I live in ND and the general rule we follow is find deeper basins (18-35 ft) during the day and and then 6-18ft for the evening/nitebite. Usually what we do is try and fish the deep basins that are somewhat close to some shallower water during the day and then about 4 or 5 o'clock we will start to move into the shallower water. How "shallow" the walleyes move up for the evening/nitebite depends on where they where during the day. There are two spots who mainly fish in the lake we hit alot and the first spot (mid day) is a basin about that is about the size of a football field anywhwere from 23 ft to 37 ft and around 5 pm we will start to move up and fish 14-18ft or so and do pretty well. Another spot has a river channel running through it and the water is a little cleaner because of the river current, maybe a little cooler as well, and mid day the deepest part there is about 16-18 ft and again, about 5 pm we will move up shallower and fish 5-9 ft there. If fish are 22-37 ft deep during the day, their "shallower" feeding depth, in general, wont be 5-9 ft, it will usually be mid to low teens to high teens in depth. Now, in some cases and some lakes, some walleyes may move up to 5-9 ft from 22-37 ft during the day but I havent seen that myself.
