Allis Chalmers 5040 hardest working 40hp, dependable, sips diesel like a baptist at a cocktail party. I've baled small bales 8 hours on under 7 gallon.
@robertlong70334 жыл бұрын
We had a 5050 which like the 40 was a rebranded Fiat unit and while getting used the fact that everything was sized in metrics took a bit of doing they were just about the handiest tractor to have around and should have been included in D's list.

Love the IH Utility's. Neighbor bought a 350 Utility new, used it hard. I worked for him between 1979-1983 and used it hard. He retired in 2000 and left it go with his farm. Drove by this spring and the present owner was using it to disc. Great little tractor!

We had one of those industrial internationals 22 years ago. That thing was built like a tank and the gasoline engine held 9 and a half quarts of oil. Was a great tractor and we sold it to a fellow in the mountains of Virginia. Ford 2000, 3000, and 4000 are also amazing tractors. My neighbor had a 2000 gas and we had a 3000 and 4000 diesel.

Morning Crazy D. Thanks for the videos. I was thinking, if you haven't done it yet, how about a video on the sizes of implements you can use depending on the horse power rating. Another you might want to do is the top five implements for home/small acreage owners. Thanks!

Great ideal Kevin I'll definitely look into a video like that now I did a video on horsepower and how to rate the horsepower so you know how big of implement to get

I don't know anything about Belarus but I have experience with all of your other picks-all good ones in my opinion. As with anything else though, it all depends on how well they were maintained and how they were treated-or mistreated over the years. A close friend of mine was recently looking for a good used tractor for maintaining his driveway year round and bush hogging in the warmer months. I knew of a sale coming up that had just what he needed and had a feeling that it wouldn't get many bids. He ended up taking home a Ford 5000 (gas) with under 1500 hrs. for under $800! I knew the history of this tractor and how well it was cared for. My father in law bought it new and cared for it like it was his first born daughter (my wife lol!). This was a consignment sale so the "collectors" weren't looking for a tractor to do actual work and the younger bidders were looking for modern stuff. This old girl went to a good home where she can keep doing what she was built for. My friend is happy with his purchase and "dad" is happy that his tractor is still useful to someone. Win/win in my book.

Just wanted to ask if you trade tractors? I have a 92 model 7400 John Deere that won't slip into C or D gear. But A and B work. I'm a female so would rather be able to trade to someone for about or around same Model size. That this female poor farmer don't have to Mechanic on. I may be asking a stupid question. But doesn't hurt to ask.

Good solid advise you see a lot of these hobbie farmers buying Kobota's and the like spending a fortune for no reason you can also go to the farm auctions and pick-up implements for these older machines at good prices so you can keep your cost's down
@robertlong70334 жыл бұрын
Good work D. Perhaps this might help The AC 5030 is a rebranded Japanese built tractor. The MF 50 did come with a diesel. It was the same engine that the MF 35 had it. In fact the 50 was simply a a 35 with a row crop option. My experience with MF's in the models leading up to the 1100 were tremendous power take off tractors but left quite a bit to be desired when it came to heavy tillage work BTW if anybody wants to know who David Brown was he was Harry Ferguson's European business partner. The problem with Belarus is that many were built in the Soviet republic of Belarus during the days of communist/socialist Russia where quality and reliability were not at the top of the regime's list of priorities. While your efforts are commendable and appreciated nevertheless you're talking about 50-60+ year old units and let's face it......no matter what you try to do the things......worn out is simply worn out.
@CrazyDEquipment4 жыл бұрын
Wore out is simply wore out that is for is right and you have to be careful when you're buying tractors at this age Belarus when the first ones come over here they were absolute junk and you are correct that's cuz they were still under the Soviet build policy which was slapping together get it out who cares this is a job and I have to do it so or else but later on l Once the benefits of free economy started the quality really did pick up on those tractors the later ones aren't bad at all from the early 2000s late 90s they were really starting to build fairly decent tractors and the new ones are actually pretty good but they have the stigma of junk because of the early days and I don't blame people

I’ve been looking for a tractor, but I’m looking for one that comes with implements. What do you think of a Ford 4000? The one I’m looking at looks like a 8n. It does come with 5 implements.
@CrazyDEquipment4 жыл бұрын
They're not a bad tractor at all and depending on if it's been taken care of and if the implements are decent and the price it probably wouldn't be a bad deal at all
