FLYING ACROSS THE WORLD TO JAPAN TO STUDY ABROAD | 2022

Hi! My name is Annie and I am a 20 year old trying to chase my dream in Japan! I have been waiting for 2 years for the borders to open and I would have almost given up on my dream if Japan decided to stay isolated for another year. It was really hard continually waiting to see if Japan will ever open up again, putting a hold on classes, working to save up money, and hoping that it all won't be in vain. However, towards the end of March I finally got my student visa, and was able to book my flight from America to Japan! I made this video to document my experience of what it is like travelling across the world to a foreign country by myself.

Im going next Thursday to study Abroad for 2 years. As much as im so beyond excited because its been my dream since i was little little. I have to my anxiety has never been higher lol. Making sure everything arrived on time was the most stressful thing for me. But luckily everything came all in time and I am all set.

Just letting you know, all airplane food is bad almost everywhere you go, unless you're rich and pay for first-class food of course XD SUper happy and excited you're getting to study abroad in Japan!! I just got nominated by my university to go to Japan also! Will be going during the spring semester!! ^-^

Bruh Lucky, If i had filled out my application my Junior year, then I would've been going this year after I graduate, but NO, I didn't do that. Now I have to stay in Sac State for a year then transfer.

How did you get to go to Japan, i graduated last year and taking a gap year for college. I’ve been thinking about studying in Japan but I just don’t know how

Because of covid, the process was really lengthy and stressful but, i first applied to a japanese exchange program that was partnered with my university and then after getting my application approved, i had to apply for a student visa at the embassy which i could then book a flight to study abroad in japan. i hope that answers your question. 😊 if you have any other questions please message me!

I don't know a single thing about Studying in Japan....About how much money would I need saved to study in Japan? I have so many questions but I don't want to run the risk of having none answered for asking too much :( Mainly I want to know if I am a candidate to study in Japan....I would like to as I already know quite a lot of Japanese- I reckon I'd be fluent in a few months.

it depends on every person, and their spending habits. NUFS gives you a monthly stipend that helps pay for your dorm, and you also have extra money to pay for food or other things you want to buy. I had multiple scholarships that added up to around $10,000 which helped pay for my whole study abroad for two semesters. I went travelling a lot around Japan, and bought a lot of clothes so... i probably spent all my scholarship $$

If you only do 1 semester I would guess it would roughly cost around $5000

yes, i was required to get vaccinated to enter the enter the country. i even got the booster shot just to be safe, however i am not sure about the requirements now, it may have changed.

What made you want to study abroad for two semester versus one? Also, any scholarships you would advise looking into?

ive heard from other people that they regretted only doing one semester because it felt so short, so i changed my mind at last minute to do a year exchange. I recommend the gilman scholarship, and any other study abroad scholarships your school offers. just apply to whatever scholarships that is available, you never know, you might actually get it.

@@ANNiEWiNz were you nervous at all choosing to do an entire year? That’s seems like a big commitment haha, although it sounds like you don’t regret it. Also, what is your major?
