Hey Rob, just bought a sr 120 today and tried 3 first flight one hour before now. Until 4 weeks I had no idea of Rc helico. I traines with the marvelous MCX2. The SR 120 is one step higher, for a novice, but stress is fun, I LOVE your approach of the subject. And your musics. Former glider , tug plane, student military pilot and paragliding for 13 years , I believe I feel what air is. And with these models, I am in the mood again. You are involved. Very impressive flying. I bought a 120SR a few weeks ago and had a great time with it so far. I moved up from mCX to mSR with CX3 for outside in zero wind. To me the 120SR seems a lot more stable than the mSR but I think that's probably due to the extra bulk. I wish they had made the gyro adjustable on say ch6. I fly mine bound to a DX8 so there is enough free channels.

Love these vids tho, helps me understand how far i'll be able to go with it. Started off with syma s107, then the larger s022 chinook, and then this one and all I can say is... Lol! Ive fried a battery, and ive given the 120 some crap, but it still loves me and it dances like michael flatley on amphetamine :D. No regrets. So much fun.

@CrazyHeliDude Thanks for the reply, I will have to say you are very good with a fixed pitch. I remember messing around with the "Cricket" many years ago and just about pulled my hair out but i'm sure the 2 heli's can not be compared on fixed pitch alone LOL

@CrazyHeliDude 15 minutes of total flight time/multiple packs. (Tail Motor) What I mean by sticky is that normally you can freely flick the tail rotor and it'll spin with the given energy from the flick. Once it starts to stick it won't spin regardless of how hard you flick it. There are a couple more shops I can name that say the same thing but, I'm glad that you are enjoying the heli and I hope that you don't experience any issues.

@CrazyHeliDude I'm glad it's working out for you. Maybe is just the Vegas air? I thought it was just me until I asked the associates here at Hobby Town USA. They sell it and say the TM's are crap. I've been through 4 already. I could have just run through a bad batch. It's gotten to the point to where I don't fly it anymore. I bought the Realflight Basic simulator to practice on the T-rex 500 then bought a 450 because the tail is belt driven. it's probably the same for the 250.

I would also strongly suggest using something like a DX6i etc. instead of the stock transmitter for the 120SR or even the mSR for that matter. It gives so much more flexibility for setting up. You have fully adjustable rates, expo and even mixing.

@matuza999 I had only flown the helihogs before I got my 120sr. It took a while and a few crashes but now I can fly it pretty good. It was pretty hard to fly at first but replacement parts are pretty cheap. If you have patience go for the 120 sr. Also it looks fragile but is suprisingly rugged.

Was looking up the blade 120 SR and the website I got said it was a fixed pitch heli which I know can't possibly be true. Is there another version that has a collective and i'm just not finding it? Btw awesome video as usual Keep up the good work my friend

For a person that's been flying the Scout CX for two years now, which would be the better move? The 120 SR or the MSR? I've watched your videos and it seems it's just the size of the two that's the big difference. Thanks for the awesome videos!

@NocturneSonate I suspected the gyro, but they assured me it wasn't the issue. After about 15 minutes of flight, it'll start spinning, then ultimately fail by becoming really sticky. Maybe they are running hot? It's been cold here though.

@CrazyHeliDude I'd rather say 3-4 minutes, haven't timed it though. In either case, when the battery runs out you get a low output for maybe 10-15 seconds before it dies completely, so it lands relatively softly.

@CrazyHeliDude Thanks for the info. I think I am going to go with the 120. I do like to think I have patience and persistence. I am going to buy some extra landing skids and extra blades. I have heard the problems with the motor failing is because people don't let it cool down between flights. Is that true?

Debating on this 120 SR or the Extreme-Flyers X-350...have you flown the X-350? I have only flown some of the Air Hogs toy heli's indoors and want to move up to something a bit larger that I can fly both indoors and outdoors as well. What would you suggest. Price isnt really to much of an issue but would prefer to stay around the $150-$300.00 mark.

Have you flown the mSR? How would you compare them? I have an mSR and have never been able to get it to hover steadily. I can get it around the house a bit, but only if I keep it moving. I was wondering if this was big enough to be more stable? Thanks!

I fly the MSR outside all the time. It handles the wind but you have to counter it. nothing above 4-5 mph.

@Craig Hancock, I'm starting to believe I got a dud too, I can hover just fine, but any kind of forward flight and this thing fights me like a dog refusing to walk. If I send it in full forward flight, full pitch on the controller, it will dart forward and nose up, like the gyro is fighting me. Personally, I don't recommend this helicopter after flying other better Blade helis.

Motorized tails are generally bad news in my opinion with a few exceptions including MSR. I would recommend people start on an MSR and go straight to Real-flight Basic/G5.5 for Collective Pitch learning.

My 120SR spins. When I apply more throttle it goes up while spinning. When I throttle down it descends spinning. What it does is only spinning. What is the problem?

if i put max throttle (i little bit sharply) my 120sr sometimes spin amost out of control, or when i'm doing circuits (0:15 - 0:18) the tail motor applies full power to maintain tail stabilization, and then i have no tail control. is that a problem with tail motor?

I have flown air hogs, but now I want to get a real rc heli. Is this too much heli? Should I go with something more basic or would I be OK with a 120sr? Thank you.

the tail rotor? yes, i think so, very loud sound it does.. BTW. these days i removed the tail fin, and it is flying reeeaaallly better.... i think that was the problem... well i dont know. but it still spin uncontrolable for 1 second sometimes...

i don't recommend this help its just not good. I've flown other blades before and think there a very good company but the 120 sr is just to hard to stay on top of today i went out for at least the third time in two months to get new parts. i installed them all and then learned my 5in 1 flight board was toast so i gotta say if i do get a new one it will be to sell this thing to get a new helicopter
