Same here. When my mom and mom in-law passed they took all that tradition with them. The stress and family chaos was hard to get through back then. I had no idea how much I would give to have another Christmas Eve …uncles getting drunk….wood stove so hot you felt like you had a fever….grandma filling the kids cups with soda. Try as I might I can’t get us all together again.

For almost seventy years, my family has celebrated Christmas on the day that worked best for most of us, usually not on the actual date. Once, when I was a kid, snow kept us away from having Christmas at my grandmother’s until March. She kept her aluminum tree up until we could get there. If sickness or circumstance gets in the way, do what works. Don’t stress, just enjoy.

Your Mom is awesome. I helped take care of my Mom for years. She didn't have dementia but she lived to 101. It is alot of work to be a caregiver.

I just love mama's first reaction to the rug was to lay on it with Hanky Panky who obviously (and rightly) adores her. I also adore the high pitched ear-splitting squeals of delight and happiness and the adults not squashing or shushing. Twas ever thus children will be gifted with marvelous things and proceed to play with "floor trash". This entire video made me smile and I desire to be adopted as Honorary Grandpa, just don't gift me a creepy thing under glass. Okay, I'm going to watch it again.

One year, years ago a very close family member was in rehab trying to get their life together and we knew we didn’t want to have Christmas at home without them. So we kept the tree up till April when they got home and celebrated Christmas then. It was fun and beautiful to have a Christmas full of love and family in the way we remembered it to be. So April, December, January,it can be whenever we see fit as a family ❤

That was just delightful! My 86yr old Mum, has just moved into the dementia part of a wonderful nursing home. The family appreciate the care she receives. Life has gone full circle and now I feed Mum her meals when I visit. ❤🐨🙏

My grammy passed a year ago from dementia, its a terrible disease to witness take someone you love. Im sorry to hear your grandma has it as well. Im sending prayers to your family. I can't wait for the day there is a cure. I absolutely love that rug, it goes in her room perfectly.

I was my Momma's caregiver over a long span as she declined from that Dementia. We moved her in with us Early 2016. She passed Aug 9,2021. Caring for her was the hardest thing. BUT I WOULD DO IT AGAIN and AGAIN. It was sad she completely forgot but I kept her remembering as long as I could . She was my Best Friend and THE SWEETEST ❤🌹❤

@Ozark Zoe my grammy was my person, the only one person who understood me. The hardest thing for me was when she didn't remember me. It took me a long time to get over the emotions of that. But on the bright side, she always called me the best friend and requested me. It's still hard for me not to get emotional over her loss, but I know she is much better where she is than with us suffering. I just can't wait for a cure to be found so others dot endure the pain we have of losing someone to it

My Sweet Momma passed Aug 2021. My sister passed 2wks before Mom. We moved Momma in early 2016. I was hers and Sissy's caregiver. Hardest part was her forgetting us. But she remained the Sweetest til the end. I sure miss her and my Sissy.

We had early 🎄 visit in November with my Mom and Stepdad who lives in other state. First time that we have seen each other in person since covid started week after my last vacation to their home. We have kept intouched weekly by phone , mail and texting over the years. It was even more emotional special meaning for us after we had been unable to see each other and to hug each other after so long time apart.

Hi. Laurel is so cute. As far as the crockpot liners, I have been using them for a few years. They are great. Juliette is such a great helper. Loved her hiding the address. Good job. The rug is so fun. That is sad about the basketball game and the other team parents. Shame on them.

That is the way of it with children so it is good you are enjoying their childhood so much. I adopted my daughter when she was just 3 months old and she will be 16 in April and is as adorable now as she was the first time I laid eyes on her but I just don't know where those years have gone. They happened in a flash and I miss the times you are having now although I am also enjoying seeing her blossom into a beautiful young adult. No money can buy what you have with your family and may you all be blessed and as happy as you are now for the rest of your lives through both the tough times and the days like today xxx💕💕💕💕

My mom's family came together the weekend before Christmas. My mom was 1 of 5 kids. That way we were all at our own homes for Christmas morning for the kids

When my son was young we always celebrated Christmas on New Years Day. We told him since there was no way Santa could visit everyone in one night he (Santa) asked a few special families if they would mind if he rested up for a week and then visited them? We knew our son would want to help Santa so we said yes. Our son bought it until he was in first grade… then he challenged us… so I confessed that since money was tight we were shopping the after Christmas sales … that was how we were able to get him several gifts… his compromise was that he would get 1 gift on Christmas… so he could enjoy showing his friends… but hen our family celebration would be on new years… he was a very bright kid…

Hey girl. So glad to finally catch a video. Since I have my instant pot, I haven't used a crock pot in forever. If you haven't tried one, it's amazing. Make dinner in less than half the time. Chicken and rice in 10 minutes. The kiddos are getting so big. So funny, I was just talking to my daughter about you. I said I remember when you had 600 followers. LOL time goes by so fast.
