Jocelyn, when I hear you say " I hope you enjoyed this video" I always think and sometimes day it out loud "of course we enjoyed this video!"

when you see anthropomorphic salt and pepper shakers, grab them up !!! They are almost a no brainer!!! I recently bought a whole lot of anthropomorphic flower children figurines for $10 at auction. I have so far sold $449 and still have some pieces left.!!!

I used to have a small antiques and collectibles shop. I loved doing it. My mother got me involved initially. I don't have a shop or sell on any platforms. I need to though because I have never quit picking. It's like finding the golden egg on Easter. I also inherited from my Mother boxes and boxes of various depression glass and collectibles. I have a lot of work to do. Overwhelmed!!!! Got to get started!!! Love watching all your picking videos. Especially because I live in the. country now and its too far to drive. Plus I need to sell what I already have!!!

How lovely that you and your Mother shared this interest. For me, it was my grandmother. Still have lots of blue and white Danish plates and Waterford crystal.

She has well over a decade of experience in the business, and is constantly learning by talking to,people and using reference books. Nothing beats going to a reputable antique store with a friendly staff, handling items, and asking questions. Most of them are happy to share their knowledge if they’re not busy, even if you’re not buying. Just tell them you’re trying to learn.

@@rikkemeek1506 thank you! I know this sounds goofy, but do you have any book suggestions?

As others have mentioned, I've been doing this for over ten years. I've had a lot of trial and error--and paying to learn. And I still pay to learn occasionally, these SOLD videos are proof. I've learned a lot from researching new items and asking questions of people with more knowledge than me. In this business, it's important to always be learning.

@@CrazyLampLady thank yall so very much! Jocelyn, I might actually be around the same age as you and I could kick myself for not getting more into antiques in my 20s (rather than partying it up!)
