I agree with Travvvvvvvvv. How was it that Tumbleweed did not end up massive? Too many people missed out on one of the best bands ever. Up there with Swervedriver. RIP Jay.

Saw them way back in 92 at The Prince Of Wales in St Kilda and Kurt, Krist And Dave were sitting at the bar listening to them, the next night I saw Nirvana at The Palace just over the road they were just another Yank band so we thought nothing of them being there, we told Kurt how we needed more loud bands to rock Melbourne and he just laughed and said "we heard, that's why we're here...... those were the good days....................

Just heard the news re Jay, real shame, perhaps the Weed didnt get massive becuase they didnt want to? I saw them play 2 gigs at Byron Bay RSL and one of the best shows ever at Bangalow bowls club and they were absolutely incrediable, many years later at the Metro in Sydney and the Weed werent quite the same, but tks Jay for the memories and the awesome music which will live on forever

Was nice playing on my on my long hocked (Peavey 65W "warm style' close to valve) tube amp). Amp had a decent mid/high mid response on clean though need FX pedals because the OD channel was shite. Made up the bollocks on native OD with digi FX via serial combo Roland/Boss - Zoom, Yamaaha or Digitech circa 2002-2004. Back when a Boss Stomp pedal was $150-220 new / Zoom multiFX unit guitar/bass was $200/300 (AUD). I forewent many ounces of weed to pay for this crap and although they gave me great joy in the long term, in the shorter term a good Ibanez or Cort SG or Strat clone could have done the job and allowed the overhead for at least 4oz of Thai Stick, 3 black wheely bin liner bags full of bush leaf and tip and 10g of certified and tested dried Blue Meanies.
