Max you are such an amazing person! You are your dads twin, and it’s clear as day that you are going to one day make an amazing husband and father just as your Dad is! Crystal and Aaron, you guys make it look easy, and I know there is no way possible that raising that many kids is easy, however I feel as though you two were meant to be parents of many. You both are so patient, calm, funny, humble, loving and beyond amazing parents! It’s truly hard to put into words how much I admire you both for the way you parent while still making life fun and loving each kid in the way they want/need to be loved. Thanks for sharing Max, I am pretty sure I can speak for majority in saying that we love you just as much as we did before! I love that you embrace how you see the world, that makes it even more beautiful! Great vlog per usual, love you guys sooooooo much!

The way Max explained it makes so much sense. Being told "this is red. Or that is blue" the color he sees, right or not, is the way he learned the name of what he sees. That is his normal, and it always has been 🤷♀️ I think it's just a part of Max being Max ❤️

Our son, who is color blind, took a job at a popular clothing store and was asked to sort into piles the dark blue, dark green and black polo shirts. Needless to say, he had them all mixed up….the other fellow working with him asked if our son was joking around….thankfully, his associate put the clothes into appropriate piles. We really got a kick out of this story.

I think it's great that you did a video on colour blindness. It is very much misunderstood as a black and white thing or shades of Gray. When Crystal was starting to discuss shades, for me that is when I have the most difficulty. Like when green gets darker or red gets darker I generally call it brown before most people because my eyes don't see the red or green in it. Thanks Max, yes it's considered a disability if we're applying to be a police officer or profession requires the need to identify colours precisely, but we can live a fulfilling normal life enjoying all the colours that we see in our own way.

I always “forget” and realise after he I’ve asked him to get something for me and he’s confused. He can’t cook chicken as he can’t see the colours. He has served it raw on quite a few occasions- -same with his hearing - if I’m on his left side he can’t hear me. We live in Australia so right hand drive - driving is very loud in our car when my husband drives and we all need to yell 😂.

What a really helpful educational video. As you know, most people are unaware of how color blind people like Max see the world and the challenges and frustrations it can create. This type of video showing the daily life challenges is really helpful to create awareness and dispel myths (like how you can identify colors if you don't really see them, that "color blind" is really a misnomer because you do see some color, etc.). Kudos to you all.

Who Max, great that you're explaining how the world looks to you're eyes. I have maybe a suggestion. The question that goes true my mind is. You're taking pictures and sometimes you ask the people around you if the colors are right. But you also told you have glasses who show you the colors the way most people see. Maybe you can you use the classes while taking pictures? So you can see for yourself? Maybe you re doing that already. But it was something that goes true my mind. Have a nice day!

I always figured that was the very reason you stick to black & white colored (& everything in between) clothing. Humans are amazing & I wouldn't be surprised if even those of us that aren't colorblind see different shades of colors as well just like we have different taste buds or some of us are more sensitive to music or noises than others. Just of course, not as a severe degree as Max. More like the tiniest shade that's barely any different. Thanks for sharing with us. I always wondered what it was like through the eyes of the colorblind. I have to wonder, Max, did you wear your glasses in order to accurately edit the images to show how you see the world?

I LOVE CRAZY PIECES to PIECES! I love Max, I feel for his lack of the full color spectrum in his sight. My love of pastels, he can ONLY experience with the special chroma-glasses ya'll got him years ago. To him it is no longer a big deal. Just a grade in school based on the 'norm.' Max is not alone in this. The majority of people have at least one color they can't name or detect. How Max sees a sunset is how many of us see it via fog or pollution. He looks so much like Aaron it is as if he is the mini-me.

I have two brothers and a brother-in-law that are color blind. We constantly forget because we never wanted it to define who we are. For a while when my brothers were little we wrote the colors on Uno Cards and other games, but they adjusted to what color is to them and at some point we never really had to say anything. My brother-in law because he was special needs was mistaken for not knowing his colors, so his diagnoses came later in life but he has adjusted now as well. I loved this video because more people need to understand that it is not as bad as it seems.

I came across this page several years ago when Crystal had posted about Max going through color, blind, and how they had him where the color blind glasses show the difference for him . This is when I found out my youngest son was colorblind on top of my other sons. so I was looking up stuff about color blindness and learning about it more. And the color blind glasses. Unfortunately I cannot afford three color blank glasses, but my boys are good without it. They learn to drive and everything.

I think people often don't realize there are many different types of colorblindness. I knew a guy who could not see color. He could distinguish light and dark colors but could not name them. So he did explain his colorblindness as seeing black and white or just "shades of one color". Since his colorblindness was quite severe he did need help with picking clothes and with some classes in school etc. Another guy I knew could not see orange at all. And than my sister sometimes has trouble with shades of certain colors mainly yellows, oranges, pinks but since it's just some shades doesn't affect her that much at all.

Interesting vlog, as I am legally blind. I can somewhat relate to that. I am not color blind but I can relate to having to wear neutral colors, I always wear a neutral, blue, black, grey, white or something and a colorful top. And sometimes like today I wear two neutrals. I am horrible with contrast. My parents as well forget about my blindness but there are certain times like crowds or stores that if they say “oh you’ll see me” I make fun of them because they are talking to there blind child.

I don't know which type he has but my grandfather is colorblind, although I don't think it effects him that much. He has always worked in car sales. One day he's at an auction when a client says he wants a new truck. So my grandfather starts describing the cars there. He tells the guy there's a pickup. The guy asks him what color it is and he says white. The client decides he wants that car. So my grandfather buys the car and drives it over to the client. When he gets out he sees that the client appears annoyed. He asks him what's wrong and the guy responds that he told him the car was white. And my grandpa insisted that it was. But the car was actually bright pink. So I don't know if it didn't bother him much so he forgot that he had colorblindness or if that's the first time he learned he had it.

Working and depending on what field you go into that will make a big difference I was in college when I found out that I was color blind and I was having a lot of problems during my optical mineralogy courses because I couldn't tell colors of mineral segments under a microscope when I was looking at them so I couldn't tell pastel colors apart and it's a big key factor for me if you want to do geology and you're looking at mineralogy and you're doing optical slides you can't tell the difference so mineral identification became very hard at that point but it depends on what you decide you want to do and what you're going to make a living at

Every colorblind person I know is exactly like Max. "Everyone else" seems to make a huge deal of it. Colorblind people can't see the colors the way you see them, so it really is important to remember that their normal is absolutely normal for them, so someone freaking out and saying, omg, it must be awful not to see colors like me, makes no sense, because they can't see them that way, only the way their eyes see them. A lot don't actually use or like the Enchroma glasses either because that's a significant alteration of their vision, albeit temporary, in the way they've seen the world their entire lives like saying green is now blue type of deal, when they've sort of memorized the colors and know them to be one way.

I’m a maternity and newborn photographer I have Irlen syndrome which means my brain interprets light differently, I often joke I’m a little colour blind because I can’t find the line where blue becomes grey or purple becomes blue or grey, things like that. Because I see light differently my photos especially the newborns were washed out. I now have my son check a couple of photos in each session to help me gage the warmth of my photos correctly. Once I have 1 or 2 right I can then use those comparatively to make sure I keep my work flow even and warm and colourful for my clients.. it’s interesting how our brains can see the world so differently and yet we may never know it because that’s just how it is until someone tells us we are wrong.. Anyway I just want to encourage max and anyone else with these learning curves to chase those dreams be it photography or anything else. I have a hearing impaired son that is a musician, you can do anything you set your heart to regardless of the challenges you face.. Wishing you all the best, with love from Australia ❤
