This house is gonna be a lot of work. It’s outdated all those gold fixtures. I don’t like the brown shower unless you can paint it. I don’t know lighten it up. It’s pretty dark. Erin is right. He has a lot to do what changed your mind. Crystal hated it then you got it inspected and there was too many problems. What made you decide to take? It couldn’t find anything else. I hope you really love it. Those renovations are gonna go on for years.

The basement bedrooms could be good for the teens coz they can have their own kitchen (teens love late night food trips, cooking) and one of the Jack and Jill rooms (the one without the potential laundry room) could be good for the 4 younger boys, 2 boys/room. And I love the idea of building small houses for your adult kids or you could just buy prefabricated houses. Family compound is a trend nowadays.

This isn’t the one Aaron really wanted. There was too much repairs/upgrades needed that were discovered during inspection for that one. This one is the one that wasn’t really on the market but they had connections to it and were offered to rent or rent to own. I’m not sure if they’ve bought it already or are renting.

Same here. Very chopped up. Renovations will cost $$$$. But they wanted land and no HOA. Plus, the entire pool has a concrete wall around it. But with time, it will become what they want. A renovation put a toll on my sister's family. What was supposed to take 2 months took almost 2 years.

I love your New house, it's perfect for your family's future. Here is idea for the Bedroom Arrangements- Lucas, Jake and Hannah should have a bedroom each in the basement. Put Evie on the main floor near you and Aaron. Bella and Savannah should share a room upstairs with the Jack and Jill connected to Aurora's Room. Then the 4 younger boys can have the other Jack and Jill with 2 boys sharing a room. Jamie gets one tiny house to herself! Offer the other 3 tiny houses to your kids that are out of the house, that struggle with rent! Paint your house grey on the outside. Remodel all bathrooms, laundry and basement kitchen, except the master bathroom and main floor laundry. Extent the main floor kitchen and remove the double doors in the area. Get Kylie to help!♥♥♥♥

The fireplace is cool but, if it were my place, it would be the first thing I’d remove because I prefer an open concept when there are many people in a home. I’d relocate that powder room too. The house has loads of potential. I’d paint the exterior a grey just a bit lighter than the grout in the stonework, use a yellow tone wood for the door, like Oak to link to the yellow in the stonework. When you build the casitas they could be 2 story apartments or back to back 4-plex that could be used as storage, apartments, guest house, recording studios, etc. There is so much exciting potential in your new home. I can’t wait to see what you do inside and to the property. I’m so happy for your new adventure!

i'd keep a fireplace, if it gets cold and the heat goes out, at least you have some heat source. My area went through extended power outages 2 years in a row (11 days). It was about 50 degrees inside.

I don’t know if it’s actually smaller or if it just seems like it because it’s so chopped up into many rooms. The living area is definitely smaller and not nearly as open, but it often seemed like there was a lot of wasted space in that house, too. There are going to be only the younger boys and Aurora and Evie living there before they know it. The older kids will all be finishing high school in the next couple years.

Change ALL outside locks- change all toilet seats- fix any cracks in walls - windows- etc. Buy totes and as you find your not gonna use it, now label whats in there- rotating for seasons. Let kids get 1 new thing to decorate their rooms. Congrats on new home.

I’d blow out the front of the house AND the back where the kitchen is to enable more of a living space in the living room/kitchen area for all to gather. Forget blowing out just that door that you wanted so you could put more oven and a more industrial size refrigerator. Do all that but push that entire wall out. There will be more room, and I think keeping that door to the outside patio is important.

I think they said this one was a lot less than the other one so it gives them a good amount to use renovations and whatnot. I just hope they can get all the permits and what not for the tiny homes and additions in a timely manner to be able to get it all done by summer. I'm sure they'll do it in phases so it's not all so much happening at once for the kiddos with sensory and change issues.

Yeah those short ceilings make it feel so claustrophobic in there. That’s a good idea to extend that area. They could even make it have a tall ceiling if they did that. Too bad it’s not as easy as it would be on The Sims. 😂

I love building and taking floor plans of real life houses and trying to create them in the sims! I've done so with my childhood home and my parents cabin, if I had all the packs I might be able to get it a bit more accurate but if we had a color wheel I'd be able to get it even more!

I didn’t understand the vision until I saw the backyard, it would look so beautiful when everything is put together. I will say tho DEFINITELY remove all the carpet, with the amount of people in your family, that carpet will be filled with so much dirt/dust especially since yall wear shoes indoors and the lighting definitely needs fixing, it looks pretty dark in there. I’m thinking adding some windows in some places like the out door washroom needs ventilation and a whole renovation, some outdoor showers could be cute too for quick rinse before/after the pool. OMG imagine making the pool area a mini waterpark lol sorry the ideas are flowing though my head

Hello Crazy Pieces! Congratulations on your new home! I know you had mentioned that the house went through inspection, however, please double-triple check the basement and window well with a company *** specializing *** in basements. Growing up in various basement apartments, huge issues (including health) were moisture, insulation, rot, pest, mold etc. etc. Also lighting! VERY important ...as everything else. My experience was all seemed well when we moved in...issues came up after a while.

I love that there are living room areas on each floor. I think it will be nice for each group of kids on that floor to have a hang out space. Plus, you’ve got areas to set up snacks and refreshments on each floor, too. And then having space in the backyard to set up “launch pads” for the kids as they grow and want move out of the main house, but aren’t quite ready to move all the way out, will set them up for success. I would consider charging them a low rent/utility rate, and then putting that money into a savings account for when they’re ready to go completely out and on their own. It helps prepare them for the realities of paying bills, and teaches them responsibility, while giving them a kickstart of having some money to launch them. Maybe even enough for a down payment on a modest house, depending on what you charge and how long they stay. I think this house is going to be great for your family! Can’t wait to see what you do with it! ❤

Only you would move into a house that needs a lot of modernising 2 weeks before Christmas and not already started packing. A bit less shopping and buying things and a bit more thinking ahead and packing. The children will all be unsettled and unless everyone works really hard at packing and unpacking , it will be chaos. Wow - that is going to be an epic house!! It’s going to be fun watching all your transformations. A tiny suggestion: please don’t take away the doors from the kitchen to the back patio. It’s going to be a giant pain having to walk through your bedroom with platters of food to take outside for get together/pool parties/barbeques. I think you may regret that. Hopefully you can figure out another way to find room for the giant fridge and ovens that works in the space. I am AMAZED! 4 tiny homes and 2 apartments over the garage? That sounds like you are going to be able to help your kids save rent money, and/or help out a lot of young mothers in the future! There has been so much moving in/out with the kids I think I have lost track on where everyone (the older kids) are now and which ones are staying put a while. This is going to be fun! Re: all the unusual little spaces; they will make good storage but I wonder (if budget allows) for making some of those tiny spaces more usable by lifting the roofline to make it a regular sized room (I’m thinking of that really long crawl space on the 2nd floor. With the mats.) Could be a nice home vlogging /podcast space, with skylights, soundproofed, in the house? Just a wild and crazy thought.

I would say maybe find a way to protect the windows in the basement when there are storms and a lot of rain fall. I seen in a videos where those type of windows have broken due to rain collecting down there. @remember they could also use all that backyard space to have a huge addition to this house there is ALOT you can do with this space it’s just because it’s older which is why it looks more closed off that’s how they were back in the day our home is from 1950’s we live in CT and it’s a 3 bedroom 2 bath and from the outside it looks like a tiny little house but it was completely gutted and renovated and we fit 20 people comfortably for family gatherings etc. just depends on what you do with the space and the renovations they make.

Glad you guys found a house. Not a big fan of the bedrooms. I feel the bedrooms are bit awkward well some of them are. But once everything's moved in I might feel diff. empty houses just look weird lol. Nice backyard though. Cool idea to put small houses especially Jamie. She can be independent yet still with you.

Im excited to find whos room is whos and all the bedroom maleovers! I also hope Evies room ends up as good or even better! I wonder if the other tiny/small homes will be for the 18+ kids so that the other kids can each have their own space, but still be in eaxh others rooms. Like Jake ans Lucas still hang out in each others rooms but can have thier personal space if needed.

I love the house. The rooms with the hidden tunnel will be great for Aurora and Evie because that tunnel can be a whole sensory area for both girls. don’t get rid of the double door in the kitchen. You should close up the secondary door to the side of the fridge and create the double oven and extra space in there.
