I love how close everyone is and loves to share with each other. I was only child for 9 years and then my brother came along and because of our age gap I have a bit of an issue sharing with my family the most cause i'm always worried about my stuff getting broken or stolen or lost if its not returned . i feel like as a result of that i tend to say i dont expect it back then i dont care after that but i know i need to work on being more open to that and open my heart more to my brother

My brother and I are also 9 years apart. I was in your same situation when he was little and I older. I truthfully can say I hated him growing up. But later in life as adults (he was mid- twenties and I mid- thirties), when he was diagnosed with a disease I approached him. We became very close as we both are not married. We have lived together for a couple of years in the past. We now live in different cities. We travel together ever since every year up to 2-3 weeks out of the country. We have the best time. I love him tremendously as I sometimes see him as the child I never had. My only regret is not having this close relationship with him years earlier. The time we lost only because of my jealously and selfishness. I hope you have it in you to realize what you might be missing with your brother. 😉

Me too. Christmas eve it just my brother, sister in law, nephew, daughters, son in law and grandson. Then Christmas day just my children. We use to it been my parents before the passed all 5 kids and partners and grandchildren and some times a few extra. This year my sister is in NZ so her and her family are missing.

Absolutely love the affection your family has for each other, so sweet. My family is coming Christmas Eve and I’ll be lucky if I get one hug. I love the fun and things that your family does together. Unfortunately all my grandchildren live out of state but are coming for Christmas. I rarely see my daughter. I see my son more often. He did show up this morning at. I think it was about 7 AM. We had almost 7 inches of snow last night and I had to have a path shoveled so I could get my puppy out. He’s the only one I see often. He’s a teacher. He’s busy. He has his own home to take care of. After having two broken wrists couple years apart, my hands are weak. Wrists are very weak. I just can’t do much shoveling or lift heavy things anymore.
