I too like knitting vanilla socks. I work from home so in between calls I knit. This way when I set my knitting down, I don't have to worry about where I left off. You are an inspiration to me.

Love the pink yarn!! Fall of the House of Usher is weird. It is based on a book by Edgar Allen Poe. That explains a lot! 🙂 We started watching Burn Notice. You are a true inspiration! Stopping your temperature blanket like you did, I will definitely be taking a leaf out of that book! It is so gorgeous. My creative Nanny died 35 years ago, I was just 19. She taught me to knit, crochet, embroidery and the basics of sewing. I wish I could have spent more time with her. Our older generations are a true blessing. I love the yarn you get in the mail! I love that you stick with knitting what makes you happy. I have recently changed my motto to that because of your wonderful influence, and my stress level has drastically decreased. Visiting your grandma reminded me of when I visited mine decades ago. She knitted and I sewed. I have regretted that I didn’t get all her knitting and crocheting knowledge but at the time I was more into sewing. I made her a couple of dresses which had to be altered for her uneven shoulders so she was very happy to have them:)

I love knitting socks! Currently struggling on letting go of hand knit socks that are well used and no longer fit. My socks seem to shrink after years of wearing/ washing so I now knit them a little to big with that in mind.

You're lucky to have your Grandma. I lost my maternal grandma when I was 6 and my paternal grandma lived far away in England, so I only saw her a few times in my life. But now I'm experiencing being a grandma myself and it's great! Both of those yarns are beautiful. Purple is my favorite color, but that pink!!

As I always say crafting should be joyful, and since you already made a perfectly large blanket why suck the joy out of the project and force yourself to work on it longer? Now you will have only good memories when you cuddle under it in wintertime!

I appreciate you sharing about your morning 30 mins of knitting. Since 2020, I've been trying to incorporate a routine of some form of crafting (knitting, diamond painting, card making, etc) with my morning coffee. It doesn't always get to 30 mins but it's the routine that I look forward to as well as the crafting. So glad you finished the temperature blanket early. It looks great. Until this year I've felt I had to finish something once I'd started it. That's so awesome you got to spend time with your gran. My gran taught me how to knit and always encouraged my crafty hobbies. Sadly she had dementia in her later years and we lost her in 2021. She was 87. Miss her so much .

The temperature blanket looks lovely and I would have finished it early too if it was getting tedious and not something that gave you joy anymore. I usually go for the blue green colourways but that bright pink yarn is speaking to me. Just gorgeous. The heartbreaker one is definitely your colours and I would have chosen this set otherwise if it was available. Enjoy the rest of your week..
