Hi Kay, Whoo! It IS warm here lately too! I'm usually always cold so I don't mind when it is a little warm but, when it gets HOT I feel like an ice cube on a skillet. Lol! I love the scent of cedar and I've heard it works well at repelling moths. If I'm ever lucky enough to get a little collection of beautiful sock yarns in my stash, I plan on tucking in some cedar blocks or eggs for protection and scent. 😊 My sock production has improved. I've completed 9 pairs of baby socks and am almost finished with sock 1 of my 10th. I finished sock 1 of my 5th pair of adult short socks. The yarn I'm using has been a real challenge to work with. It's a black and blue marle, kinda splity and seemed to just want to fight me. I frogged back to the start, more than once, before I got comfortable working with it. I'm really glad I stuck with it though because I'm learning so much about knitting socks, working with splity yarns and fixing little mishaps, AND about myself too. Oh! And, this pair of socks I'm following your "Austin" sock pattern. I'm really enjoying the pattern and plan to make a longer version in the future. 😊 I'm hoping to join in on the Summer Sock Camp next year, when I've got a few more pairs of socks in my experience pile. I noticed your "Be the Light" t-shirt and just have to tell you, you do a wonderful job of bringing light to the knitting community. Your smile is contagious, Kay, and I look forward to seeing you every video. Thank you so much for sharing your love of knitting and the joy it brings you. ✌️💜🧶🧦

I’m going to try 4x9 size ziplock bags from Amazon to put each skein of yarn in. I also need to organize my yarn. 🤣🤣🤣At last count I had 150 sock yarn skeins/sets not including my mini sets or other types of yarn. I put Anything not sock yarn in small bins to store in my closet. Best of luck with your organizing. 😁 I also sort my yarn by vendor due to knit alongs such as moonglow summer knit alongs.

For yarn storage I bought some waterproof Sterelite totes from Walmart. If it’s reliably waterproof, I assume it is also bug proof. Everything goes in there with some cedar and moisture absorbers so I don’t have to worry about smells or mold. I am also digging through the bins regularly to decide on my next project, so they get aired out pretty often. I even have one for completed projects not currently in use depending on the season.

Was watching along about the 6:00 mark, when you started showing the Pool Party socks. It reminds me of the Frankly Lisa colorway by same dyer, except on an obviously blue background- if you will. My question: Looking at your previously finished socks [ and the ones I have on my own needles now] and comparing them to this pair, is it me or is there a decided color speckle difference between the two socks? Could you do helical knitting using the 'first half' of the skein and the second half to even the colors up a bit? Interested in your thoughts. TYIA M
@CrazySockLady5 ай бұрын
Variations throughout skeins can happen with any hand dyed yarn. I have never done helical knitting with socks. Seems too fussy to me to be honest. I just let the yarn do its thing and I don’t mind changes from one sock to the next.
