Razor electric scooter mod and speed controller bypass mod

Part 2 in the now to mod razor electric scooter mod project in this video we get the scooter running after our previous video of modifying the speed controller. We do speed runs on 12 volt lithium batteries then go double power and run 24v lithium batteries and do another speed run watch to the end to see a comparison between the two. I don’t even use a controller I just wire up the motor to the battery through the switch on the handle bars never had any issues

Hi can you tell me how? I have a pocket Mod but same thing. You wire it to the throttle? I was going to use an on off switch but that's kind of hard on it.

@@SabrinaTenge-pw4hrfind the signal wire from the throttle connect that directly to the motor then connect the negative to the motor and positive to battery and switch and should work nicely

thanks for the help MAD MODS my 2000w was doing the same ,with no load it works fine but the min. you use it , its shuts off gonna try to do the bypass switch n see what happens will get back with the results when im done

so out the box u get 9mph how fast did u measure the scooter to be after this mod?

Be VERY careful when messing with lithium batteries. You can instantly melt steel if you make a wrong connection. Especially with a tool battery that has lots of cells in it.

I work on hybrid cars at work and run a lot of rc cars with 2s and 4s batteries so am fully aware of the issues and explosive power of lithium batteries. There not to be messed with unless you know what you are doing. I'm going to run this on my rc batteries next time 😀

Good work, the mod though means no brake cut off, should have soldered the orange wire to relay positive that way throttle will work and brake switch cut off as both are in series. I had to do this and give relay a ground as motor was not working as it should.

10.8v × 4Ah = 43watt. its not enough to run 250w motor!

Your formula it's wrong, its V x A= W not "V x Ah" as you pointed out, if you gonna be a hater, first inform and educate yourself

well, honestly the speed seems identical to the factory speed 10mph. We have an E90 which was my son's and he wanted more speed. He got the scooter when he was 6 so obviously at 10 he needs more speed then before. So what do we do besides adding a double voltage battery ? I just tried putting in a 18V (realistically it shows 20.4V) power tool battery and nothing happens. It just won't move. I'm measuring the 20V but the motor won't spin. The original battery works fine in it. So what exactly do I need to do ? I do like the push start, so I do not want to disable that. I guess that is what you do in the part #1.

If your only using one battery you need to short the other battery wires
