CRAZYWISE, directed by Phil Borges and Kevin Tomlinson, is a feature documentary exploring alternative treatments for mental illness.
CRAZYWISE centers around Adam, 29, a former wakeboard champion who struggles with his sanity following a psychotic break. Desperate and feeling shame from being labeled with a potential lifelong disease, Adam embraces meditation. Later, after revealing his mental diagnosis, Adam is turned away from future meditation retreats. He becomes homeless, alienated from his family and is living alone out of a friend's car.
A 20-year fascination with shamanism leads photographer and filmmaker Phil Borges to question how Western culture defines and treats severe mental disorders. While documenting Adam's story, Phil becomes increasingly aware of the severity of the mental health crisis in America. He discovers an emerging, survivor-led movement supported by a passionate group of renowned mental health professionals, activists and scholars who are advocating for alternatives to the biomedical based standards by which most mental illness is currently defined and treated.

Bipolar offers many rewards and insights like the oneness and enlightened feelings etc but also the negative depression and suicidal thoughts, I feel past life's of ones soul journey must surely play a part in all of this somewhere....I feel regression could potentially be of aid in unlocking some answers in all of this, its all connected.

I have the same problems that Adam was feeling except all of my pain is from the past and it never used to phase me but then one day it all came crashing down and I have been this way for going on 5 years now. I have bipolar, schizophrenia, and adhd. It sucks telling people that cause then im automatically labeled as a crazy :c

Cody, how can you be a Christ follower/ Christian, and mix other false religions and beliefs with what all Christ has to offer??? I too have experienced voices in my ears and thoughts that are not mine. The Christian Holy Bible tells us that there is an invisible war on Earth involving evil demonic spirits who can speak into our ears all manner of thoughts. But Christ came to set us FREE from the kingdom of darkness and the power of the devil and from our sins against God. He came to give us eternal life and the hope of Heaven. God has given His children spiritual warfare weapons to stand against the schemes and strategies of the demons See Ephesians 6: 10--20. But, I'm doubting your salvation because you mention other religion's also. Our God is a jealous God who hates idolatry. You shall have no other god's before Me. please repent. So what does one do for a living if they want to be independent? or if they want a family? Tools are important to learn How to do what you want to do.

Your concerns about basic survival are, in my opinion, the priority. To me, if you can't find a way to live off meds and lead the life you want, then you are better off medicated. If you take a close look at my work, while I'm critical of psychiatry, I don't really comment much about medications. In our world today, they are a necessary evil. I'm trying to change that world.

Hello people, I too have experienced voices in my ears and thoughts that are not mine. I'm doing very well today because I have learned in the Christian Holy Bible that there is an invisible war on Earth involving evil demonic spirits who can speak into our ears all manner of thoughts. The Lord Jesus Christ helped me in this battle and can help anyone else who will believe God. Even Jesus heard the voice of Satan the devil and demons voices when He was here on Earth. (see Matthew 4: 1--11). Also, God tells us that after He created the Heavens and the Earth and the first man Adam and his wife Eve; there was a great rebellion in Heaven by the highest created angel named Lucifer. Lucifer wanted to be worshiped and served and to be god. But The Only ONE True God will not share His glory with anyone. So God cast Lucifer out of Heaven and 1/3rd if God's angels also rebelled against God and they were cast out of Heaven. God has given them over to their rebellion against God and His Commandments. They are also known as the antichrists, unclean spirits, demons, and very evil invisible spirits! They are here on Earth causing so much suffering, oppression, false religions and beliefs, tempting people to sin against our God, and most importantly they want to keep us from a real relationship with our God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!!!! Only Jesus can help you and rescue you from the kingdom of darkness and the power of the devil, and from your sins against God. If you will believe God's testimony about His Son Jesus Christ, that He is God whom the Holy Father sent into the world in human flesh, born miraculously by the Virgin Mary, He lived the perfect sinless life that no human has ever done, He did so many miracle's to prove He was God, and He willingly died on the cross for your sins against God and His Commandments. Christ's blood covers our sins, He was buried in a tomb, and rose from the dead on the 3rd day just like He said He would!!!! JESUS IS ALIVE AND ALL AUTHORITY IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH HAS BEEN GIVEN TO HIM BY HIS FATHER IN HEAVEN. He came to set us FREE from sin and from the penalty of sin and death and judgement in Hell. He came to give us eternal life with God! All as a FREE GIFT of GOD. No works if ours, not by you trying to be good enough because your own righteous is like a filthy garment to God. But just by believing in Jesus death, burial, and resurrection/ His works, God will declare you righteous, justified, not guilty, by God's grace and mercy for those who believe and are willing to repent of your sins against God.
