Thanks, just trying to keep history straight. Plus a look at non-serious drinks is entertaining every once in a while.

Have you seen any bars in Utah doing high end cocktails inspired by this stuff?
@Artofdrink2 жыл бұрын
No, not yet but I'm sure it will happen at some point.

Very informative. I do find it funny though, that in the section when talking about carbonation, you poured that coke straight up and down into the glass agitating it excessively. Wouldn't the best option b to tilt the glass, and pour it slowly so the liquid gets agitated as little as possible, losing less carbonation? It's always driven me crazy when people pour drinks, holding the can well above the glass, and pouring it in like a waterfall. Waterfalls aren't carbonated, but there's so much air they mix in it looks like they are LOL

Reminds me of Laverne's (or maybe Shirley's) Milk and Pepsi.

This was really cool. As an amateur mixologist seeing you free pour without jiggers made me uncomfortable lol

Practice with a bottle of water and a pour spout and it becomes really easy, really fast.

@@Artofdrink thanks man, ill try that. So you were a working bartender before this?
@Artofdrink Жыл бұрын
@@daniel_dumile Yes, I bartended from 2003 to 2012. I've also been writing about cocktails since 2004, in 2010 by book was nominated for "best new cocktail book" (it's actually on the history of soda fountains) and I was nominated for "best cocktail writer". From 1994 until 2012 I also worked in research labs, I originally studied chemistry. Cheers

So you don't think it would be possible to pull off a bitter/complex/non-sweet version of this?
@Artofdrink2 жыл бұрын
You can try, but cream suppresses flavour intensity. And bitter milk/cream doesn't seem appealing to most, maybe the diehard Fernet fans, but even then...

I’m Italian and grew up in New York cream soda is my favorite drink but I have never seen or heard about the cream being coconut. Sounds like the Mormons are trying to fuck up my favorite drink

Native italians would argue "new york italians" are not really Italian.
