Creating little books is definitely in my top five fav things to make. In this stream I am taking inspiration from some previous books to create a new book cover, papers and eventually a new little book. Queen P: You just keep taking it easy! We just don't recover from general anesthesia like we're 22 anymore! Miss Mariah: gaffer tape (as opposed to Gaffer Brand tape), in theory, will release from a surface more easily ... because nobody wants tape residue stuck to their venue flooring! In theory. Loving watching the cards become a book! Very nice job on the hinge gap and then the covering on those outside corners! :chef's kiss: I will see. you both tomorrow to work some more on this new lovely! Love and Hugs, deb

This was a great stream! Loved it and that you are making a journal/book. I love watching how people put them together and so unique to each one on how it goes together, without too many rules...lol. I hope you feel better Mariah, and P so glad you are dong better. I also loved watching you spray the papers, as I was doing some the other day and thought I wasn't getting them like you do Mariah, but alas I was doing them like yourself. Love and hugs girls..

Gaffer tape (also known as gaffer's tape, gaff tape or gaffa tape[1] as well as spike tape for narrow, colored gaffer tape) is a heavy cotton cloth pressure-sensitive tape with strong adhesive and tensile properties. It is widely used in theatre, photography, film, radio and television production, and industrial staging work. While sometimes confused with duct tape, gaffer tape differs in the composition of both the backing, which is made from fabric as opposed to vinyl or other plastics, and the adhesive, which is more resistant to heat and more easily removed without damaging the surface to which it adhered.[2] And bookbinding tape is self explanatory. As a theatre maker, I have used rolls of gaffers tape - laying it down and then ripping it off for performance set ups and breakdowns.

I just did some demos making a Lotus fold book and a Meandering one. Definitely fun for sure. Watched some of this stream, then came in late for the Tues stream (was out cutting grass - trying to get as much done before the rain hits) and I see you're doing the type of binding that is similar to that of the Medori Traveler's Notebooks. Made sketch journals for the girls one Christmas with maybe 6 or 7 signatures of all different kinds of paper, from watercolor to different weights of sketch paper etc. Put the signatures together with a saddle stitch, then bound them with the coptic stitch. They absolutely loved them. So between this and Tues I pretty much watched what you're working on. Now I'll go watch the beginning of Tuesday's so I'm caught up by Thursday (which will mean more grass to cut in the back after the rain tomorrow). Will begin hiring the fella that lives behind me after that.

When covering the corners, if you'll glue the triangle onto the corner and then pull the edges up and over it will help cover and make the seams disappear.
