Listen up kids. This video shows the POWER, flexibility and command that Reaper has to offer. Purchasing Reaper was the best $60 bucks I have EVER spent. The "bang-for-the-buck" quotient is off the chart. And Kenny....Kenny himself is the best throw-in plugin you could ever want. Thank you so much for what you do, Kenny! I am all over Sitala now too. So awesome!

I use mixcraft which I bought in humblebundle for like $25. You can pretty do much the same but comes with a lot of plugins, samples, and can even edit videos, which is basically everything I need. But it still boils down to where are you comfortable at.

@rchrd3353as someone who've been using FL and Ableton for years before completely switching to Reaper, I'd have to disagree with you. Yes, FL and Reaper are both good daws that are good enough to make music, BUT Reaper is in a league of it's own. Realistically yes, FL upfront comes with a lot more VST instruments than Reaper but most people don't use the stock plugins or sounds even if FL comes out with few with every update and if you wanna compare them with Reaper, it comes with over 200 JSFX and then there are 100s of JSFX and scripts being made every day and they are all free. Yes FL has lifetime free upgrade which is unheard of nowadays but with Reaper you get two major versions with one purchase and my license got me for 8 years for $60, that's basically pocket change. Yes out of the box FL is setup for making beats and in the box producing but with handful of scripts and some customization in Reaper, the workflow you can create is league ahead of FL/Ableton and I still have those daws because I bought them but I never use them because how fast and easy I can record and do midi based music producing in Reaper compared to any other DAW. I've tried every major DAWs and Reaper is in a league of it's own. Is it perfect? nothing is.

Super useful tutorial on how to use samples drums with Sitala! A lot of us though, use midi drum instruments , and prefabricated drum "grooves" , so we don't record the drums, but copy and paste drum grooves, which can be far more complicated, created by professional drummers. This is especially true for fast pace rock and metal. It would be hard to click on keyboard keys/pads to create such drums ... Unless Kenny surprises us with another video on how to do that ...

Nice rhythmic choice on the kick..just about ready to come across from all my loops and live jams...so to go with a spare drum machine is great I can set up a library with my ableton sounds 707 606 etc. I blend between spectrasonics rmx and midi editor. Reaper reads my RMX seamlessly...and automatically. But some beats I write more from zero I prefer. So sitala is perfect. I was wondering anout this aspect as RMX is easy to eq or compress per channel. And as usual you make it a better way with the template. You always make a great way the best way in the end. Thanks Kenny. This is perfect.

You're the one that turned me onto Sitala and I actually used it in tandem with my main drum sequencer for a song I did. Funny thing though is I didn't know you could load your own samples into it! Even cooler as I really like this little program. Is there a free resource for samples out there? I really don't feel like diving down the rabbit hole of using samples but would like to give it a try - by samples I mean one shots. How you're expanding Sitala for individual tracks is exactly what I was looking for the other day in one of these tutorials. Thx again.

Kenny, thanks, great tutorial, as always.. But, i ran into a problem. I tried to do as you did at 7:33, where you need to select the output to 16 channels for each instrument separately in the Sitala settings. I did it, but no new tracks appeared, as you have in the video, there was still one common track for the drums. Perhaps someone has encountered this problem? the interesting thing is that after these actions, I can only hear kick, and all other instruments are silent

Thank you Kenny, I continue to learn. I would still appreciate a way of splitting to separate tracks the separate output of midi drums in audio format. I record a midi drum track from playing an Alesis electronic drum kit. This one midi track can be exploded to separate midi tracks using 'Explode midi item by note row" under 'Item Processing'. But the only way I can create audio tracks from this is to record each one separately. Is there an easier way?
