Really like the simplistic approach of showing what functions to use and why to use these functions. One thing I like to request on top of this is calculating what % of states comprise 80%?
@EnterpriseDNA4 жыл бұрын
Hello Rajiv Balasubramanian, Thank You for posting your query onto our channel. The Pareto Rule is based on the 20%-80% Rule. i.e. in this case 80% of the revenue comes from the 20% of the States. And therefore you don't have to make another calculation in order to decide what's the % of states that contribute to 80% of sales. We're providing a link below where a query was asked onto the our Forum about how to highlight the states that contribute 80% of the Sales which comes from 20% of the States. Hoping you find this useful and helps you to understand the concept better.🙂 Thanks and Warm Regards, Enterprise DNA forum.enterprisedna.co/t/pareto-chart-trying-to-color-code-it/9362/2

Great tutorial ! I followed one of your other tutorials where you explain how display the measures on the X-axis. I tried to incoporate that solution into this pareto chart instead of using the ”state code” for example. But I recieve the error in the sumx part that a column from a calculated table cannot be referened. I have 3 measures ”Lead Time (same day)” ”Lead Time” ( 1 day)” ”Lead Time (2 day)” That I wish to be presented on the X-axis.

I'm having trouble because I have the same values for different lines in my table. I'm trying to build a pareto chart for failure times in equipment. When more than one equipment stayed failed for the whole month (744 hours of failure), all the lines that have the same amount of hours is summed and only after that I get the cumulative values for the rest of the equipment. For example 3 equipment stayed failed for the whole month (744 hours each) and 1 had 372 hours. Using this method I get 2232 for the 3 first lines and 2604 for the fourth line. Is there a way to treat tied lines?

Hi Sam. Was wondering if you could tell me what the [Revenue] is in your code? I am trying to replicate it myself for my specific situation and I cannot quite figure out what my data set would be related to. I try calling the header title that I think I need to to full fill this but it says it cannot find it. It is the column I used to make my measure that totals the quantities that are related.
@EnterpriseDNA4 жыл бұрын
Hi Noah, Revenue is the total income based the selections E.G. In your fact table you have a column 'Income Statement'[Value] which is the monetary value. You also would have 'Income Statement'[Type] Which you would want to filter to = "Revenues" as the column would also contain data such as “Expenses”. So the formula you would have in this example is: Financial Values = SUM('Income Statement'[Value] ) Revenues = CALCULATE( [Financial Values], 'Income Statement'[Type] = "Revenues" ) Remember the key to any solid finance reporting is ensuring you have your model set up correctly with your lookup tables and facts clearly defined. Regards, Enterprise DNA
