This is a great workaround for the lack of popups in PBI. Just imagine also if you could have conditional popups (like when you load the report, a popup will appear based on a value in a card to highlight, perhaps, that action is required ).

Modal dialogs look cool with a drop shadow effect. I like having a semi-transparent rectangle behind the dialog to grey-out the report behind the dialog. If you also set the background rectangle's action to close the dialog then the user can click anywhere on the background to close the dialog. Another fun challenge is to build dropdown menus using these techniques - the new custom icon buttons work really well for building menu items.

You can add a blank text box of the size of the page behind the popup window so that user does not interacts with the visuals or else if someone clicks on any visual that visual gets on top of the popup window. Also, you can add the the close button bookmark to that blank text box so if user click anywhere on the page it will close the popup window.

Amazing example. You guys (in a cube) are amazing! I am always pushing my reports to another level thanks to your tipos and recommendations. I have a question about this very interesting example. Lets suppose you want to see the unfiltered values in the pop up window. I mean, suppose you have one hundred cities, you select them all and filter out one (o more than one) to be left out of the information that is being shown in the report. How would you make that Dax meassure? I know about the SELECTEDVALUE function, but would you combine it with a not statement?

U may use a shape overlay which will cover the entire page thereby hiding all the report content and then add a button for popup on which the user's can put their selection and on close action hide the shape thereby revealing the report.

Good idea about triggering a Power Automate flow from within a popup. You won't be able to do conditional logic with button actions - you've got a fixed bookmark attached to a fixed action.

It’s called concatenating labels. Typically relevant to date hierarchies. If you click on the paintbrush symbol and then go to the x-axis drop down and scroll down a bit you’ll see a switch that allows you to turn on/off concatenation.

You can try concatenate some text with the selected value from the filter, for that you can use more functions like SELECTEDVALUE(), HASONEVALUE(), HASONEFILTER() and others, very useful, you just need to take care of the all different cases for your filters (like what you wanna display when you select All, at single selection, multiple selection).
