I have been organizing, and reorganizing my mass amounts of ephemera over the years and have never been happy with what I came up with. Oh, the money I've spent on trays, tubs, tins, containers, baskets, etc. over the years!!! I am kicking my self for not thinking of this 15 years ago! Thank you!!!!!

I have all my Tim Holtz Emphermera in those 12x12 plastic containers with the individual containers inside them, Broken into the seasons & themes etc. but I hate that they still are just tossed Inside the mini containers and I have to sort through them. Not to mention these 12x12 containers get buried in my closet. Then I am to lazy to dig them out. I like this idea to see immediately what there is to pick from. Where or how do you store your notebooks.

This is the kind of thing that’s good to do when we want to be in our craft room but maybe we are too tired or fidgety to create. Organizing like this is a good way to settle our bodies and minds and makes life easier down the road.

Your storage book is fantastic! I altered a book and use it to store lace and ribbon, the same way you do here. It’s the only time I use double-sided tape. In the past, I found that things don’t stay “stuck” forever when using that kind of tape, so it’s perfect for something like this. 😘

This is a brilliant idea. I was able to do mine while recovering from an injury an was a great way to help pass the time. I do recommend using permanent adhesive as you have. I used repositionable and my book does a lot of shedding. Going forward, only permanent for me! Thanks for sharing this wonderful idea

I have DOZENS of those semi clear/velcro storage envelopes. Never have enough; never the right size. Either too large, too small…grrrr. I’M SO COPYING THIS IDEA!!!!!! And how much room it will make available where I currently store my nightmare bags. Win-win!

This!! Is awesome! I use the Canson mix media sketch book for different projects. But this is what I need it for! I have so many different tubs & containers in & on my work table full of ephemera ( I have the same as you) that it’s annoying to dig through looking for what I need. I’m going shopping for adhesive now. Thank you for sharing this!!! ❤️❤️ I do think I will try to organize them like “people” “quotes” “floral” etc and use colored tabs with index at front. I may be a little more OCD than you. Lol

I LOVE this!!! Sometimes I like to tuck ephemera into pockets…. I’m assuming once you put the adhesive on the back it’s going to stay on the back, right? Any suggestions for those pieces you may not want to glue down in a project?

I love this idea. I know that most TH ephemera is a type of card stock. I’m wondering if this might work for fussy cuts that are not printed on card stock. Have you tried any? TFS

What happens if you want to use a piece of ephemera as a tuck? Won't the 'sticky' on the back stick once it's in the tuck?

Hi hi! Yes, more than likely. I just cover it with a small piece of paper or try an eraser.

Once you take the ephemera out of your book to use, and you're repositioning it in various places, does that tape stick to the other things that you're working with? In other words once you're trying to use the ephemera on a project and you need to reposition it on that project a couple of times to decide where you want to glue it down or place it, does that tape that's now on the back of it now stick to the project? I'm asking because those very flowers that you were demonstrating I bought a pack of for a project. I repositioned them at least 100 times to get them where I wanted them on the final project. I was wondering if the tape that you used to stick it to the book with would then be sticking to the project? Would I be able to reposition the ephemera on my project without it, tearing the project page.? I understand how it doesn't change the Canva paper, but I was wondering what your experience was with the projects that the ephemera actually goes on? Sorry to be so long.

This is a wonderful idea! I do something similar with A4 copy paper and then put it into a proctor sheet and clip into a ring binder folder, allowing me to add 100's of sheets per folder.

Great idea. I have the same layout for my ephemera but I put it in a old photo album with the tacky pages that have and plastic overlay. It’s perfect because is like a reposition-able tack so they come on and off so easily and are protected by the plastic overlay. I think they are called magnetic photo albums. Works amazing!

As a person who loves to glue stuff I find your method right up my alley. I have tons and tons of ephemera as people keep bringing me stuff from a former crafter and putting it at my door. It would take several of these books to organize it all. I’m going to save a ton of space as all my ephemera is in several photo boxes. I love this idea and already have the books and glue. I am at my wit’s end being completely out of storage space. What a lifesaver idea! Thank you bunches!!!! 🥰🌻

I use this as well but with the magnetic albums. The reason these pieces come off despite the use of permanent tape runner is that the TH pieces are heavier than copy paper weight. I would never try to adhere heavier weight ephemera with only Tombow in a journal. It would not hold for long but for this purpose it is fine. One caution though…you would not want to adhere thinner pieces this way as they would not come off easily. For that you would want to use Tombow’s temporary tape runner.

As soon as I finished viewing your video, I drug out all my ephemera and tried to be cute by organizing them by theme, then duplicates, colors, and what-not as I taped them in. I finally got around to starting this. I have a lot of TH ephemera that I don't use for the same reasons. This is so satisfying on so many levels! The paper dolls makes it like a creepy photo album lol Thank you for sharing !❤

I’ve been using the same type thing for quite some time now. I actually use the bigger 11 x 14 book for most of my ephemera and then I have smaller books for specialty ephemera.

I do about the same thing but I use Aleene's Tack it Over & Over on the back of my Ephemera (once the glue is dry but still tacky to the touch) and stick them on old acetate sheets and put them in a ring binder. But I have to try this tombow adhesive you are using.

I have been doing this for years, except i use just a speck of gluestick, no tape, and i use loose sheets of paper that i either put in page protectors or use a 3 hole punch so i can put everything in binders. I like to reorganise as i use things or add to my stash. This really works for me. Also i rarely have a sheet of stickers, i cut them apart so i can fine tune my orgaization. I really do enjoy spending time organizing my stash as much as i do creating my projects.

Great idea! I have an antique postage stamp book which works great for little pieces but larger ones not so much. I have some of the adhesive, I’m going to pick up a sketchbook next trip out!
