i tried the table metod and it works if it is on the same page, but if it inst when you add something more, it doens add to the drop down list

If it's on another sheet, use the INDIRECT function. If your table name is Table1, use the following as the source: =INDIRECT("Table1")

@@h2e Hi, I'm having the same problem but the table isn't named and I'd prefer to keep it without. How can this be solved? I'm really wondering if all this complication has a purpose... why not just giving the option to have a data validation list that excludes blanks right away? Sounds like a very common need that people would have all the time. By the way sorry for the rant and thanks for your help

Sort your list from A to Z then the blank will be in the end... Then Use offset

make sure that in the source you use the = sign when referencing the range.
