My mother sent in her DNA without activating an account because she met has no access to computers. How can I activate this for her now
@AncestryUS Жыл бұрын
Hi Helana, and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry to hear your mother has had issues with the activation of her kit and we would be happy to advise. If your mother still have the box the DNA kit came in, there will be a 15 digit activation code in that kit box. You simply just need to help your mother log into her Ancestry account and from here activate her test. If you click the DNA tab at the top of the screen once logged in, you will see a button saying Activate a Test. From here, just follow the steps on the screen and all should be well. We will also leave the activation guide below in case you need further help with the activation steps. support.ancestry.com/s/article/Activating-an-AncestryDNA-Kit We hope this helps Helana, and if you do not have the activation code there is no need to worry. We can arrange to send out a free replacement test to your mother. If this is the case, please contact us on one of our other social media channels, for example, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. If you send us a direct message on one of these channels we can better assist you with the query. We wish you a nice day Helana, and look forward to hearing from you!

so when you get a DNA test through ancestry you get a few special extras when you start up a tree on Ancestry...well we did..Hubby still has them actually... well here I am I sign up for the full kit and caboodle for 6 months and when this ran out Ancestry took all those little extras attached to the DNA test bonuses... mmm so now I get to view my tree, yep thats it...I get to view my tree and thats it, nothing else... DO NOT DO ANCESTRY GUYS ... THEY RIP YOU OFF AND DO NOT REPLY TO YOUR QUESTIONS WHEN YOU ASK THEM WHY THEY DID THIS TO YOU...

ancestry dna is only a guessing game for genetic 'heritage'.. yes it is accurate on who is related to you but not where your ancestors are from.. the american-irish genealogy interest is large so they are catering to their consumers.

my irish was at 70% but in the update from a while it ago it went straight up to 90%... it just isn't accurate when i look at were my ancestors lived outside of ireland..

@Bonnie Miller upload your raw dna on gedmatch. It'll give you a better break down of your ethnicity.
