Very useful feature, I tried creating relationship but that doesn't work. So this Power Pivot way is really helpful in that case. It's entry point to understand Power Pivot. I followed exclusively Power Pivot tab- 1. Select table -> Add to data model 2. Manage Data Model- > Create Relationship 3. Home-> Design -> Pivot Table This is my first great learning about Power Pivot (Select Table-> Add to Data Model -> Create Relationship-> Create Power Pivot Table -> Add DAX Measure) I did the same thing thru PQ (at cost of no drilldown)- 1. Get data from both Table in PQ 2. Merge queries as New 3. Select Country columns 4. Expand Table Column-> Aggregate 5. Select SUM of Amount

What you did will work. But it is not optimal. Why? Because the raw data and the data model data are in the same file. It will unnecessarily increase the file size. Create a blank new file, then repeat whatever you have done - Get data - From Excel workbook - import both tables - rest is same.
