Harder shadows can be accurate though, it depends on distance and intensity of light. Sunlight on a clear day will do it, it's not always a harsh artifact of flash photography.

People prefer celebrities new or cell phones nowadays. anything valuable like this where we can learn so much without getting out of our homes and free people do not value. Most have no interest for art today but for stuff, things, money and that's why so many have mental problems! very sad but true! Tks Darrel for so many years of inspiring art and teaching. I've learned so much from you. all the way to South america. I've improved my oil painting by so much and I know I still have room for it! . congratulations for all you do. i wish I could attend some of your workshops, maybe one day!
