I can't possibly tell you how much I appreciate you sharing these videos and blogs with all the details on the entire aspect of your shoot. I started shooting dancers a few years back, but it was only a few shoots here and there with a white seemless paper backdrop. I got overly concerned with using too many lights. Last year I changed it up and used a single strobe bounced into a 7' Westcott Umbrella and it was my best shoot to date. It was the first time I was VERY pleased at the results. I have more shoots coming up and will be utilizing many of your tips. THANK YOU and your work is STUNNING!!!

Come on Haze, 8 months! Keeping us hanging, the suspense kills us. Great video as always. Your videos definitely inspire me to work with fabrics and smoke. I have a concept but I am not there yet!

Again, another great video Haze!! I've tried fabrics but attached to the model as opposed to adding it in post.

Great video as always. Tried fabric last time and the result was mind blowing. Posting a link to the shoot below. The images were taken in one goal though, yet to try combining in PS.

Where do you get your fabrics? I shop at Joanns Fabrics but the stuff I get isn't long and skinny sheets of fabric like yours seem to be. Do you cut yours to be that way?
@Hkvisuals Жыл бұрын
Nope, bought them this way at a local store!

A question, how do you usually manage the power of your 2 light sources? the back one half a power or how?
@Hkvisuals5 жыл бұрын
The main light is generally a stop brighter but it also depends on how I diffuse the light and on how subtle I want my rim/hair side light to be.

Hey man! You have some strong work here however, the images don't look realistic. The fabric looks as though its not part of the model. I think going back to working with the garments or fabric actually warped around the model would look more realistic. I know this would take more time and be more strain on the model but I think you would have a better image that looks more realistic.
@Hkvisuals5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback, I've tested both methods, with mixed results. The fabrics we used here are thick and heavy, and it looked horrible wrapped around the model. I've done it before and I understand what you are trying to say, and I respect your opinion... But the decision we took here to make the images the way we did it was the best according to the time we had, the team and the aesthetic we were aiming. We wanted to be in between the border of fantasy and reality...

No one ever tried to use fans...? From an engineering point of view that would make a lot of sense. 😅

So basically what i learned was that i have to be amazing at photoshopping, rest in peace flying fabrics😂
@Hkvisuals3 жыл бұрын
Then you didn't understand much... it all depends on the effect you wish to create. I've done multiple videos on the subject, and I on occasions use little to no photoshop on the fabric(s) But yes, if you wish to create surreal effects with ultra-long and large fabrics, you need a huge team or... like here Photoshop!
