As you work with your variables in SPSS, transforming or recoding them into variables that are most useful to you, you may want to break the variables into bands of data, such as quartiles, quintiles, or percentiles. This video will teach you how to simply find the cutpoints in a dataset using the Frequencies command and how to create an entirely new variable that contains scores for quartiles, etc. This will add to your skill set for mastering variables in SPSS.
