I'm running into one issue after submitting the form to the SharePoint List - which works perfectly, however after submitting I want to ResetForm - the checkboxes don't clear. The related drop-down (which is hidden) clears, but the ResetForm doesn't appeara to clear the checkboxes. What am I doing wrong?

Once again and fantastic video though I have a question. Using the checkbox, how could you change a data card's visibility when certain checkboxes are selected. I followed along with this video and tried to implement the choice column the same way you demonstrated in my own application. The difference is that my application connected to a sharepoint library in stead of a list. When I implement the choice column on the first or second form, everything works just fine. However, when I implement the field on my third form it won't submit. Only after repeatedly changing the value it will eventually show. Do you know what might be the problem here ?

When I implement the field in the third form, I get the issues I mentioned earlier. When I place the same choice field in the second form it works like it should. So right now I am trying to find a way to solve that. All the settings are the same because I duplicated the screen. So I have a brand new challenge. If you have any ideas you're more then welcome. This is a great video but I have a question about using the data after a users selects one or more checkboxes. I want to have other data cards that are visible only if the user checks a certain checkbox. I feel like this is easy in other scenarios but here it seems a little difficult to me.

I wonder if you can also create a tutorial , where if the check box (check all) from outside the gallery grid is checked only the filtered items in the grid will be selected, because at the moment from your bulk update video, it only select all items in the grid, what if you have filters and you make filters in the grid before you select all items?

Edit: it just started working now haha, not sure what I did Only one question: I've got a form with 5 different multiselect box sections. Ive attempted to copy your method for each additional one, but each section beyond the first does not save the selections to the multiselect column. I think its got something to do with the SharePointIntegration object. Ive simply added the code in separated via semicolon i.e. Set(varCategoryData,Blank()); Set(varCategory2Data,Blank()) ; NewForm(SharepointForm1) Am i doing this wrong? The choices are being loaded from choices function. Choices picks choice values from Choice column in SP. If you think of it, it is dynamic.

Hi Reza, i am new to power apps and love your videos. I used this video to create multiple checkboxes under a gallery. Since there are 25 checkboxes and most times 20 of them will always be selected. I want to set the default that they are always "checked" and then user just unselects those that are not applicable. I am able to set the default to true, but within the sharepoint list, when user sees all items checked and has no changes and saves, it is not retaining all the values in the sharepoint list...it shows blank. How do I resolve this?

Reza, This is SO helpful. Wondering if you can help me understand a specific use of checkboxes. I put a gallery in my datacard to create a list from a multiline column in SP. Next to that checkbox list, I added a text box to capture the user who checks the box. I would like to have that user saved back to my SP list. When I check the box, the name is populated, and then when I save the info, it is not retained anywhere in the SP list. I thought I might need to add a column to the SP list to hold this user info, but since that user text box is technically part of the subgallery it is already associated with the original SP column. I am at a loss of how to capture this user info in my SP list. Do you have any ideas?? Thank you in advance for any insight you can provide.

Hi Reza, You create great instructional videos, very detailed and easy to follow. I used this to create checkboxes on a form and it worked brilliantly, but I was running a flow which was to extract the check box choices (for an email) but the 'for each' loop for the choice field does not loop though all checkbox items. In other words if there are 3 checkboxes selected the for each only loops twice. I selected 3 checkboxes without using the form (gridview) and it, then works and loops through all 3. The only thing I have managed to work out is that the checkboxes go in a different order using the form or in gridview.

Important is to set the value based on what your field type is. Lookup columns have a specific format. I have done some videos on Patch function and shown behavior of lookup column type. Give those a try.

Thanks so much Kalai! I do not have a video reference on sending the checkboxes information selected by the user. You have the checkbox selection information in the collection, simply use the Concat function to get data from collection as a string and then send it in email.

This is exactly what I was looking for with a clear and step-by-step instructions. Superp job again Reza. However, I have two requirements with multi-select. 1) is to add a free text box for each corresponding choice for users to insert specific folder locations for example for data storage location I have local vs network drives and then what folder are data stores Drive Letter Specific Folder (Free Text) C: \Project1\data D: \Project1\data L: \Project1\data The second requirement is to add the "Others - Please Specify" option to multi-select and when this option is selected, then users are presented with a free text box to input what they desire. Last, how to capture the free text in both scenarios in the SharePoint list that corresponds to the choices? Thank you

I'm trying to create a form with 50+ different checkbox questions (i.e., you'd be repeating your "Category" here 50+ more times with different values for each question). Hi Reza, I am currently working on a form and encountering some issues with the look-up. I have a column for Country (which is a look-up type in SharePoint- I have a separate list for Country), and I used a combo box for it in Power Apps. The reason is that for every selection of Continent, the options for Country will be filtered based on Continent. My issue is that every time I select multiple values for Country field, it only stores the last selected value. Hoping that you could help me with this. I admit that Power Apps is not my strong suite. Your tutorial was perfect, and it worked perfectly. Question for you, I have a 3 item choice, how can I check if the second checkbox is checked in a formula on another field to control its visibility. I want to basically put in logic that says IsMatch(Gallery1.Selected.Value,"Cut Shop") and if the item called Cut Shop is selected, then it will show this field, otherwise it will hide the field. The above syntax works only if the "Cut Shop" is the last thing checked. It should be something simple, but I can't figure it out. I tried Search(varCategoryData, "Cut Shop", "Value") but got a syntax error.

But the only problem is that it when I edit the item, I guess the varCategoryData field is blank from the OnEdit action. How do I pre-load the varCategoryData table, or am I doing this all wrong?

Most welcome. In thi video, the multi select checkbox values are synced with the combo box (which is hidden). If you simply set required property for data card to true, it should work.

I just double checked and the Required property for the Data card is selected - it seems that there is a disconnect somewhere between the data card and the gallery with the checkboxes, which is inside the data card. On the gallery I have Items set to Choices, OnSelect to false and Selectable to true. On the checkbox control, I have a collection in OnCheck/OnUncheck, OnSelect I have Select(Parent). I tried to do a CountRows for the gallery and it only shows 0 whether I have boxes checked or not. Any other ideas of how I could get this right? Appreciate your time.

@@RezaDorrani The submit button has other conditions in it referring to text from other cards in the form (Used !IfBlank, Edit, Disabled) - the only condition that doesn't work is the one for the checkboxes. I did include the data card that contains the gallery into the DisplayMode for my submit button.

Excellent video. I have tried to implement this solution. It works fine. But the only problem is with Caching of the checkbox selections. I have tried to reset the variables as mentioned in the video. Unfortunately, none of them works. If I try to create a second item soon after creating an item, the previous selections are retained. For the most part, this works well. I'm using it in a Canvas App (tied to a SharePoint list), not in the SharePoint custom form like in the video. However, on my "New Form", after I create an item - then leave and come back to create the next item - the form is maintaining the values checked from the last item created. Any idea why this would be.

@@RezaDorrani Thanks Reza. I found an article on there where the issue was resolved. Here's what I did (in case anyone needs the solution handy)... In App.OnStart, set a variable... Set(varCheckReset, false) OnVisible of the screen where the form/gallery/checkboxes reside... Set(varCheckReset, true); Set(varCheckReset, false); Checkbox.Reset property... varCheckReset Tested it out, and it works perfectly.

Hi! Thank you so much for sahring this! I ran into the same issue while replacing my dropdowns with these gallery-check boxes. The only thought i have is that when you start with a blank canvas app, you don't get the same property options as you do when you create a form using SP. Either way, Im folling your instruciton but i don't see the OnVisible property on the screen where my checkboxes are placed. i see a 'Visible', but I think they're 2 different things...can you provide a bit more detail on where the OnVisible property will be? Thank you Reza! It is really helpful. For the multi-select checkbox, my issue is the checkbox selections are still pre-selected on the new form, which looks like a cache. I added "Set(varScheDays,Blank());" statement on OnSuccess property, but it doesn't work. My app doesn't have "SharePointIntergration" menu on the left, so I couldn't add the statement there. Is it because of it??

Hi Reza - thank you for the video. I have the checkboxes as a lookup instead of choice column for Dataverse table. I tried to fit the checkboxes in a gallery and inside a DataCard, but not able to make the check box visible if the data source is Dataverse, but if the data source is SharePoint. the checkboxes gallery inside the data card is visible. Is there a way we can put the gallery inside a DataCard if the data source is Dataverse and the field is a lookup field? which means form and gallery inside a DataCard comes from different data source. I frequently got request for adding gallery (data source comes from a different table as the main form) inside the middle of the form, like to know if this is possible. Thank you!

For a single card it works just fine, but I've tried to do the same thing for multiple cards however when I submit the form the columns that are multi select are blank on a sharepoint list. Not sure what to do here as for each one I've changed the names of the values e.g. the first the checkbox was called Checkbox2, so for the next card its Checkbox2_1 and each name is used correctly in the their respective formulas e.g. Set(varCategoryData1, ShowColumns( Filter(Gallery1_1.AllItems,Checkbox2_1.Value), "Value")) . Any help appreciated :)

You would probably need to add a button or some control for user to select which would trigger selection of all. On click of button, collect all items in collection. (I guess collection would be same as items property). And when user selects button to remove all selections, use clear function to clear the collection.
